A player kicks the ball out from full back he hits a team mate lace out with a 50 metre pass, it might even set up a goal great work but no points.

A player kicks out from full back turns it over hits his opponent on the chest he goes back kicks a goal ur plyers gets -9.

Now i don't mind that u don't get points for kick ins but if u don't get points u shouldn't lose points either.

I'm looking at u Lindsay Gilbee 1st qtr against the roos.

Thoughts?

Interesting you should mention that...how about this scenario....

Player kicking out after a behind, kicks to himself, due to a large number of shepherds and great evasion, he runs the length of the field and kicks a goal...how many points does he get for it?

If u play on to urself u get regular points as u would anywhere on the field.

I love it when my bloke goes to kick in and plays on to himself.

Love the cheap points :thumbsu:

Would that be 2 kicks? First to himself, then hitting up his teammate?

From what I understand the kick to himself wont be counted (just as a normal kick-in to a teammate) but any possession after that is!

Agreed with OP about lacking consistency I saw this with Gilbee on Sunday also was annoying that they can lose points but not gain. Either both or none IMO

Im pretty sure you get 1 point for a kick in. ANZAC game..Shaw hadnt touched it, no tackles, no hit outs or anything. Had a score of 2. Then he did a kick in, and goes to 3.

The SC site doesn't have it listed as a way in which you can get points. Maybe Shaw just got 3 handball receives but then dropped the ball each time.

The SC site doesnt list most of the points scoring system. It states their scoring system is made up of roughly 50 different stats.. I think the kick-in scoring would apply at their own discretion - as like when a player kicks less that 40m to a contest no points are awarded. So if Shaw hits a player in the pocket, no points are awarded, but if he spots up a team mate on the chest outside the 50m circle he may receive some points..

Kick in doesnt count the only reason it went up by one is because the scores get ajusted throughout the game.

This happens when a player gets injured doesn't play the rest of the game but if you watch the scores live he loses a point off his score every now and then, because it averages out with the rest of the teammates the more they score the more points the injured player looses.

If the player doesnt have a touch for a long time there points go up or down one point.

So it was a complete coincidence that he had taken 3 kick ins, and the update where it has "Heath Shaw- short kick in" his score just happened to go up by a point

yes unless he kicked it to him self

Also just on my point you can lose point with out being on the ground look at Daniels wells SC score in the 4th quarter he lost -9 points and he wasn't even on the ground when he was injured

So some players also get an extra point for doing nothing I see it every week

It wasnt...Champion Data use 59 different stats to determine score. And I am pretty confident that Kick Ins are at least 1 of those. The rule would be something like 1 point for a effective kick in. 0 points for an ineffective one. And something like -5 for a Clanger kick in

If kickin was worth a point they would tell us. that is easy to explain.

The reason why they dont give you the full list of stats they use is because it is too hard to explain how much a point for a shepered, or a knock on or punch or a winning goal or a tackle in time on.

All of those stats vary they don't have standard points depends if you are affecting the game or if you did it in time on.

I always watch the live scores will keep a close eye on them this week and see if they award a point for a kickin they might.

Yeah they dont tell us all the stats because they cant tell us how much they will be worth. Read the "Thanks Johno" thread, the last post is a guy who emialed CD about unique stats

Thanks SB4B. I checked and I am definitely "a guy"!! :D

Same Post details for those interested...

From Champion Data website:

"There are a total of 57 individual statistics categories where the computer attributes either a positive or negative value. Given the unique intellectual property contained in the rankings formula and the degree of underlying computer logic applied, Champion Data does not publish the full rankings formula."

Clearly Champion Data's application of what they call 'Game Breaking statistics' and 'Posession Type' etc will have a significant impact on scores.

As we only get formally informed of some 19 odd statistics measurements I can say for sure that we will NEVER be given the formula for this calculation. :thumbsd: We will only be able to keep guessing based on what we have seen on Game Day Live etc.

Have to admit I would love to know what the other 28 categories are but unless you are a love slave to Demetriou or some head honcho at CD fat chance.
