I'd return them to where you bought them, those dogs look remarkably like cats. You've been duped.

If you've taught them how to heel, fetch, roll over etc though, you're good. Very good.
Well that's torn it.

They actually can both fetch and do it tirelessly for about 20 minutes before getting shagged out and lying in a sunspot. Generally when there is something good on TV (so not during Melbourne games). They also swim. Apparently fetching and swimming is something this breed tends to do.

We've got a cats thread you know..

I had a portrait made of my dog.
Love it. I did the cat:

Was this one of those $79 jobs? Wifey was showing me some website where you send them a photo and they produce something like that
Actually $59 including shipping. I got this one free because they sent the wrong portrait first time around

i would always get mine to sit, give a small treat. then you have his attention. grab his paw and shake it, saying shake while you do it, then give another small treat and say good boy or whatever you do.
should catch on pretty quick. i didn't alternate paws though so the dumbass only ever uses his left one lol

Done all of that.

She can do it and she knows exactly what she's meant to do when I say shake. I just cop massive attitude, imagine a toddler rolling their eyes and sighing before having to do something except she refuses to fold and actually do it after dishing the attitude.

all i can say is ya gotta just keep practicing it and being consistent. took about three years before my dog matured and (mostly) got over that shit. he's pretty good with everything now but it was a LOT of work.

Take the hint.
