Don't boo Kingy, says Costa

GEELONG president Frank Costa has urged Cats supporters not to boo former captain Steven King in today's qualifying final against St Kilda at the MCG.
Traded to the Saints soon after playing a key role in the Cats' Grand Final win last season, King was hurt at being booed when the teams met in Round 4.
Costa has implored Cats fans to not make the same mistake this afternoon.
"Steven King was a fantastic servant of the club for a long time," he said. "He was a best and fairest winner and a captain of the club.
"Supporters have to understand that it was not his decision to leave the club. Geelong was delisting him.
"It's great to see that Steven has had an extension of his career.
"If he had've stayed, he would have played in the reserves virtually for the whole season, because Mark Blake was the improving youngster and Brad Ottens was the established ruckman.
"I certainly hope we beat St Kilda (today) and that Ottens and Blake beat Kingy in the ruck because that's what football is all about.
"But from Kingy's point of view, I hope he finishes his career off with St Kilda on a very high note, because he is a very good person and was a great servant of Geelong."
Costa said he was in little doubt that Geelong had made the right call, with the decision to release King coming down to the fact that he was almost seven years older than Blake.
