.. getting cut-up by pea-hearted hacks like Milne & Fiora make the defeat disappointing.

Their performances say more about us than it does about them.

A bit harsh.

The way the game was played last night suits these two. I suspect it does too for many of your players given where your list is at (and I'm not suggesting they are soft).

The updside is it gives you a chance to win, the downside is the risk of skill players breaking free. I hope that's what you're meaning when you it says "more about us than them"?

Exactly right JD.

We don't apply nearly enough pressure than we should which allows these types of flakes to showcase their wares.

We have just as many flakes but yours turned out more productive than ours.

pretty narrow minded view of the game, when the game was there to be one we lacked the prime mover to win the important ball out of the pivot, has happened since R1 when stevens dominated last q then Burns from Collingwood and same against ess, Milne and fiora had F^%&$ all to do with it...and frankly Id be worried if thats what our brainstrust thought:rolleyes:

I was wondering if it was a Wallace game plan last night to as soon as possession was lost, turn and run to defence. Was only watching it on TV but it seemed there was zero defencive pressure in the forward half. Missed Krak there as that is one thing he does well.

Whenever we got possession in their forward 50, their forwards and mids were man on man and we had trouble getting it out many times. We seemed to concede at the other end.

So not sure if that was the players being lazy as you suggest, or was it the game plan. Since their loose was down the other end on Polak, man on man harrassing could have kept it in our forward half much more often. The fact Howat racked up alot of the ball for us suggests it was a game that was orientated towards the open 'over here, over here' type. ala Fiona.

Did not miss Krak:) He does not do enough when he is playing in the seniors. He been on our list long enough for 101 games and he is a finisher so I do not think Krak is always the answer. I think Petts is doing his role and doing a better job since Browny has been in the team.

Totally agree...except I am talking purely from a defensive role...Krak does that well and Pettifer doesn't. But yeah..Krak doesn't do enough everywhere else and Petts had a good game last night!

opposition sides love to play free flowing footy against us because they will back their skill to cut us up and it always does

stkilda have been the most boring team this year but they looked good last night because of the **** all pressure we gave them and they didnt want to lock it down because they didnt need to

terry knows we dont have the bodies to play tough accountable footy

Fiona is a dud and he has done nothing. He is a former number three draft pick and the way I see it he has no value to the Saints. Dont kid yourself he is very soft indeed like butter.

these players are ok as long as their midfield is dominant and they dont need to put their bodies on the line. Wait til they play against WCE or Adelaide and they will fall to their knees faster than my gf on my birthday
