I'll be really pissed off if we trade 18 for Morton.

West coast have shown that they are very weak negotitaors with the Judd deal. If they take 3,20 & Kennedy they got bent over big time.

We have pick 1 in the PSD FFS - take him for nothing or arrange a better deal.

pick 18 is over the odds.

Miller better work really hard in the next 2 days - I'm less than impressed with his efforts so far.

If he tardes 18 for Morton and swaps Schultz for McMahon I'll be contacting the club to let them know how pissed off I am that with pick 1 in the PSD he can only recruit 2 skinny kids that are nothing special.

Morton + Pick 30 for Pick 18 is a pretty fair deal. If the deal occurs you will most likely pick up Morton with Pick 2! Thanks.

Who gives a flying **** about fair??!! Why trade away a draft pick for a guy we can get in the PSD? Only reason could be tiges are targeting someone else in the PSD. If it's Troy Selwood or Jared Brennan I'll be happy; then we can give WC #35 for Morton. Otherwise - NO DEAL!

Does anybody know the reason why morton chose richmond?.

If we could give up 18 and somehow manage to get both Morton and McMahon I'd be happy:thumbsu:

He said once that he wanted to join his brother at Richmond - so read into that what you will. He wanted to go because he couldnt break into our team.

I am not an expert.
I am confident that the club will take the best available player at No 2, regardless of who that is.
if the club truly believes that Cale Morton is the 2nd best player in the draft and duly drafts him, then that is good enough for me.
Put it mildly, there's eff-all I or anyone else here can do about it.
There's one thing I do know. That the people in charge are in a far better position to judge talent than I am.
People here keep suggesting that Cotchin in by far the 2nd best player in this draft, but they have probably seen him play about as much as I have, and that is limited to a half in the under 18 championships, which wasn't that flash anyway.
If the people in charge view Cale Morton as the 2nd best player around then so be it. Both Mortons may just thrive playing with each other.
Our hands are tied people. Like always, we go along for the ride, because none of us are able to jump into the driver's seat and steer the bus ourselves.
We're just passengers, who have paid our fare and have no choice but to trust the driver to take us to where we want to go. How long it takes to get there, nobody knows, but we will get there eventually.

Agree with the sentiment mate, but I've seen too many Lounders, Baniks, Fioras, Pettifers & JONs to not be a little apprehensive this time of year.

I think what the others are trying to express is maybe it's time for us to take the safe options this year and not try and be too clever by half...

Happy to stay on board while Plough is driving though...

Pick 30 and Morton for 18 is basically done by all reports.

Its a pretty good deal for you guys. Mitch would have gone top 10 in his draft year if he didnt go f/s. H was rated on a par with Franklin believe it or not.

I think your also overestimating pick 18. In this draft that pick is the same as 30. Everyone from 15-40 will be on the same level. Its a pretty crap draft to be honest.

What I have heard from judges that are fairly reliable is that there are 3 standouts, the top 20 are promising and then it falls away to speculative from 20 onwards.

Trevor Woodhouse from the Eagles just said on 6PR that he does not expect Richmond to give up pick 18 for Morton. Maybe a later pick or PSD.

I don't agree with that. This draft has good even talent with roughly picks 4-12 and quite a few ruckmen. There are also quite a few decent project kpp's, but few real standout kpp's. The best of those kpp's will go earlier than later...picks 18,19 should really be used to gamble on the players we really need. After about picks 25 (give or take) the talent becomes more and more scarce...ie. little depth and very speculative. Pick 30 is really starting to gamble.

There is also a chance a couple of players we really could use, could fall to 18,19 and so it's just not worth the risk in trading away those picks.

PLEASE, NO MORE OUTSIDE, SOFT, LACKING SKILLS, BUT ATHLETIC FLANKERS.
