Not sure if it deserves its own thread but what happens if Carlton lose next week and Norf beat Collingwood.

AFL decide to put us at Etihad against Norf!

Do we tear the place down?

Geelong v Fremantle will be at Etihad - Game will be lucky to draw 40-50,000.

If the AFL gave priority to higher finishing teams then technically it would be Collingwood who would have to play at Etihad in the above scenario. If it is based on potential crowd then it will definitely be Geelong v Fremantle.

We will draw a crowd between 70,000-90,000 against North, Brisbane or Adelaide, and Richmond v Carlton would sellout. Given the majority of money made by the AFL is from the last tickets not the first I doubt they would risk losing an additional million+ from gate takings.

I'd rather play North at Etihad than Carlton anywhere. We've proved we have mental scars against Carlton. They're dangerous and I could not stand losing to them after the year we have had.

I reckon we'll smash those campaigners if we get them.

If Essendon gets done tomorrow I think we should throw the game on Saturday night so that we finish 6th and play Port

I don't want to play Port, as much as I'd love beating them as I live in SA. But I'd rather a big final against a big team, but I guess I can wait til the Semis ;)

If we play Port we are playing a final against another team who doesn't know what finals are about and it'll be like another game...

I don't care who we play, not scared of any team. We will be playing a team who finishes below us on the ladder either way and if we lose to any of them then we will have shown that we need another year to have a serious crack.
Besides we need revenge against the blues, north and collingwood and what better place to get it than in a final :thumbsu:

Also, our heavy training load will have us primed :p

Lot's of if's and but's heading into the final week of H&A season.
I guess we will know the Bummers fate as early as today and what type of influence it will have when our Tiges face them on Saturday?
As for the first week of the finals, do you lads have any idea when the Elimination Finals will be held? I'm guessing one on Saturday evening followed by the other on Sunday arvo?

If results go as expected today and this weekend, I'd say:

Friday night Haw v Syd
Sat arvo Ric v Car/NM
Sat night Gee v Fre
Sun arvo Coll v Port

If any of you are happy against playing a North or Carlton both teams we lost too and may have a mental edge over us then I am dumbfounded. These teams do not deserve a place in the 8 and we are going to be ones getting screwed over by the AFL when we would smash Port at the MCG.

Any team

Any ground

Any time

Who gives a &%$#? After 12 years of going home solo, you dont crack the shits because the bit of talent you have hooked up with is driving a friggen Kia. You just thank god almighty you aint at home on the internet talking about next weekend.

Same with this. We play shit at Etihad, but who cares? I'd rather be playing finals than spending 3 months talking about draft pick options

Dont care who, lets be happy we are at the show

Rest assured the AFL will go for $ ahead of any other criteria when scheduling the finals.
The cats will be the ones in the gun to have to play at Etihad, but what do they care, it's their 'home' ground and they'll be guaranteed a game at the MCG the next time they play, be it semis or prelim.

I would have thought top 4 would play Friday night and Sat arvo to give the losers the longer recovery time (+ travel in Sydney + Freo's case). That would mean Sat night or Sun arvo for us?
