Downloding video files off the internet.

Noob question here but have been googleing it for ages with no success.

Basically i need the video of this link onto my computer:

Then i need to convert it into an avi file. If somebody could give me a hand it would be much appreciated.

You need a flash downloader which will save the file as a flv file. There are some free ones if you google it or look on cnet. Also firefox has a few flash downloader add ons. They dont necessarily work with every flash vid on the net but they do work with many. I have downloadhelper add on but it didnt recognise the southpark vid.

To convert there are myriad tools out there to convert flv files to avi. Pazera is one which is free. But again google or use cnet. WMP will play flv files by the way.

I have used the firefox download helper, it is quite convenient because it is on your browser, but I dont like the fact that it fixes the logo onto your videos

If you have real player, on most videos there will be a small pop up that says download this video

saves them as FLV all you need is a converter after that

I hope you're using the de-bloated BBC version rather than the Real Networks download which apparently comes with a raft of insidious software which installs surreptitiously.

i recommend getting a tool bar called ant http://www.ant.com/toolbar
you can download any video from any site and it is flash. Also if you want a converter i recommend getting 1 called imTOO mpeg encoder which can convert videos into many different file types
