Just wondering who everyone is going to pick as there DT/SC captain this year. I'm tossing up between Matthew Pavlich, Johnathan Brown and Marc Murphy

Not sure about you but most of us rotate our captains every week. i'll start off with about 10 eligible for a gig and hopefully increase that to 15+ by the end of the year.

I'm tossing up between Darren Glass, Matthew Egan & Zac Dawson :D
I think I'll track there NAB Cup games to make a final decision, but at this stage, I'm leaning towards Glass because he is a terrific leader that can stop just about any forward..;)

There are whispers of vice captains in DT this year to replace your captain if he were to be a late withdrawl. Good innovation.

i massively support that.. so many times in '08 a late withdrawal screwed my team! if it happens, i'll be all for it!!

I liked it where you only could choose 1 captain because people that don't know about injuries and footy in general would miss out on around 100 points..

Edit : Not referring to you Warnie..

Not a fan, have it a draft concept league i'm in which is good but wouldn't want in proper dt.

Nah warnie, i got murph in my team and expect him to be skip material maybs not straight away but come finals time he may get a run.

Not unless you have a player like Bartel :D

He was my captain every round he played last year.

Hopefully KC can do the job this year :thumbsu:

haha.. yeah.. i make sure i am logged in ready to go at 7:30 just incase of a damn late withdrawal.. perfect example, in the Finals DT when Josh Fraser pulled out late vs WC... many people were caught napping there!

but seriously, sooooo much of the late withdrawal thing sucks.. and i'd like to see the stats on it.. they'd surely be going up!! which is frustrating.. and makes DTing very hard!! just ask Vin and his mate Cam Bruce!!

Cox
Bowden
Pavlich
Riewoldt
J Brown
Cross
Stanton

I normally go for Key Forwards because they can sacore massively 100-150's
EG
Brown vs Carlton
Pavlich vs Carlton
Cox vs Carlton
Mids seem to never score large hundreds 100-130 (not including bartel)

So I guess you had him when he came off injured against the Swans? That was so harsh.

About three years ago I had Goodes as my captain againast the Eagles. He got injured in the ruck contest against Cox and sat out the rest of the game. He had a total of 1 point (hitout) for the game and as my captain, 2 overall. How stiff is that?

well i always go for a midfielder for captain. key forwards are risky as they could pull big numbers or small 1s. people like mitchell, hayes, cornes, bowden will get you consistent 100s when they player weaker teams so their always a safe bet.

yeah things like that hurt you but having Bartel as captain each round certainly paid of over the whole season...:thumbsu:
