If you knew d1ck about cricket (which you clearly don't) then you would know that about 80% of dismissals are the result of bad shots. It's not often you cop a nut that is so good you pretty much can't avoid going out to it.

Usually it is a case of the batsmen playing a shot at a ball that isn't quite there to be hit, mis-timing a shot, playing a leave when the ball is too close to the stumps. RARELY does a batsmen do everything right and just get beaten.

The reason he won't get dropped is because he can be expected to take between 10 and 15 wickets over the next two Tests.

If first class records were to be used as a criteria for selection Bichel would be the first bowler chose for the Melbourne Test.

A nice little average of 21.34 for queensland. Well over 200 wickets. Actually he has the best state average of any current day aussie bowler.

Just a quick pointer - Macgill's average for NSW is 33.

The only way Mcgill has been affective is when he the batsmen have got the runs on the board and Waugh has some runs to play with, so this ****er can go at 4 - 5 runs per over.

He is a joke, he gets wickets for NSW at Sydney and wickets for Aus against bloody Bangadesh,

A liability get rid of him.

Remember an interview before the tests started when he said it would be a real test of his ability bowling to the Indians.........

What a shame Warnie will be back before the tours of Sri Lanka and India.

Stuey's average would be sure to get a workout there.

BTW, has MacGill played most of his Tests at the SCG?

Why dont you tell us the alternative - how will Australia be better off without MacGill?

The guy who's taken more wickets than any other Aussie this year in tests, and in this series against India.

Can you please tell me when MacGill had the Indian top order under pressure in the last test?

The game got way from us when he was bowling.

A couple of easy boundries always relieves pressure and MAcgill is always good for that, especially against the Indians. Against other nations he takes wickets while still bowling the odd bit of tripe - that's all well and good, but he is not striking enough against these guys considering the amount of runs he gives away and overs he bowls.

He did nothing in the first innings in Adelaide when it counted - a couple of tail-enders when the horse had bolted.

I would pick the guy for Sydney, but not for Melbourne. If we were playing any other team than India, I would play him in melbourne, but we're not. These guys are not the WI or England remember!!!!!!

All I know is Macgill dismissed Lara a couple of times, was our leading wicket taker in that tour, and took around 9 wickets for the match in the 3rd test to win us the test when the pitch was as flat as your brain. When he takes wickets, you complain about him bowling too many overs to get them, and when he doesn't take wickets, you call for him to be dropped, so what do ya exactly want from him?

Bichel not only got Lara out, he always take crucial wickets for us, vaughan with the last ball of the day, Hussain with the last ball of the day, Lara for a lot of times, who at present is the best batsman in the world and has a great record against us, so hell, why wouldn't I want him in the side? When he gets Lara out, you say big deal, so what do you want from him? You want him to take all 10 wickets and take all the catches and score all the runs, does that satisfy ya? Cricket's a team game, there are 11 players on the pitch and they share the workload and have specific roles of their own, not one of them has to do everything, so if you don't watch much cricket, please be quiet and stop acting like an expert.

LOL, did you even watch the test? The game got away from us only when we batted poorly in the 2nd innings, we were still at a winning position until the batsmen decides to have brain explosions and play stupid shots. Macgill worked his ass off in the 1st innings when Williams got injured and Dravid and Laxman were running rapid, give him credit for it, so what do ya expect him to do, beat the edge and run through their order when it's as good and flat a batting track as you'll ever see against some very fine players who are set?

Every bowler gives away easy boundaries, Bichel did, Macgill did, Williams did, so why only slam Macgill? You certainly do have a prejudice against the guy, no offense. All wrist spinners will bowl loose balls, that's the nature of the art, that's why we were almost extinct in the 60s-80s, it's diffcult to control. Warne is the only leg spinner who has perfect control, Macgill is your normal legspinner who will bowl loose balls, so if you wanna blame it on anyone, blame it on whoever invented wrist spin.

Then again, who did? Dizzy got no wickets, Williams got none, only Bichel and a run-out was keeping us going, so why only blame it on Macgill? He did nothing? He bowled heaps of overs in hot weather when Williams was injured, he had a heavy workload and did it well. He didn't bowl as badly as you said, he certainly wasn't taken to the cleaners, his stats look like he's gone for runs, coz Steve Waugh had the field back for Dravid and Laxman.
