He wasn't much chop last year. But hell , maybe he had a big preseason.
( Remembering that StKilda was looking for a decent forward last year - he ended up behind Gamble and Siposs in the pecking order ).

John McCarthy - He played well throughout the Nab cup but port continuesly played him in half the games. This may suggest he is not fit enough to play the full game.

Porplyzia - Like Masten, he played well in the early rounds but looked out of place when the heavy pressure was on.

Shaun McKernan - The fact he only played 10 minutes last night may suggest he may not be up to it yet.

Sam Reid (Syd) - Will occasionally play as a spoiling defender so he will often score **** all.

What are your verdicts on these players?

Just read on DT Talk site that a corked calf was possibly the reason he was subbed this week....fine for round one.
 
Thoughts on J. Caddy (GC) and or L Parker (Syd). Haven't heard or read much about these 2mids. Considering using either 1 of them in mid5 position.

L.Parker is a very impressive player, no question. His price tag though is tough to quantify. The question is if he averages 85 this year would you consider that as a 'win' or rather a rookie who averages 70?

I would consider it a win.. either way. My main thing is...to pick either 1 of them and make money, then upgrade at some stage. I know I can pick someone cheaper, but just don't want to pick too many GWS players.

how did parker go in the NAB scoring wise? I remeber watching him in the first game, he really caught my eye, but forgot about him until now.

My team is pretty much set, im just looking for the M5 spot, with my unique mid-pricer around 200-300k, currently have Masten, but apparently he may struggle to get minutes in the middle when at full strength.

Caddy is another, but dont want to just go off one game.

Mcarthy looked good, but not sold.

49 (not sure if sub affected), 84 and 109. Also 49 in the 2 shortened games of round 1.

One thing I did notice is his good scores came with Jude Bolton either not in the side or having minimal gametime himself. Not sure if thats relevant at all, maybe Swans fans can help with that one.
 
and what are brisbane fans, or anyone who knows much about Golby thoughts on his job security? and the way he plays etc? thank you

i haven't seen anyone mention rhys palmer yet??? he's had some great scores in the nab cup the games he played (117 was one of them). i remember he was alright before he injured himself. now at gws he will be one of the main mids you would think. what are peoples thoughts? hes cheap, like 330,000 or something...

what about hale? two scores over 100 in the nab. averaged 98 or something in the 4 or so games he played.. renouf is gone now. bailey is just shit.. lol. who thinks hale will become a premium again this year?

Going for League Win...Ziebell as a unique mid? - certainly shown he is capable of pulling in big scores, amazing end to last year. Easier draw and had a few games last year where he played very little game time as well as a 4 against Freo.

Suspension not an issue with league win in mind.

I know, i don't see the point, then there are fixtures over the byes.

They should make the first 3 count, and those 3 not, but i suppose it makes it more interesting.

Can't decide between Parker and McCarthy for 5th mid. Both are starting 22 but leaning towards McCarthy due to age and experience. Can see Parker averaging 75-80 although some oh his NAB cup scores have been impressive.
