Dumb Demons Recruit Spud

he got us to a prelim final.it amazes me that everyone says how bad spud was..we have had a lot of coaches worse than spud such as.sproule.walls.gieshen patterson bartlett.none of whom got us to finals.sure spud wasnt good but he wasnt the worst we have had at richmond.

So what. Everyone of them got what they deserved. But none of them were our longest serving coaches. A couple of them were premiership players, not losers at the club with the longest losing streak ever to play football. And at least 3 of those coached the team after the club was at its peak and when it was running out of money and struggling financially.

breswe, I would suggest the players have been blamed to a fair degree on here, just scroll through some previous posts over the last year, they haven't been spared form criticism. Frawley and the recruiting manager, Beck I think, have both paid the price, as neither are there any longer. So to the players, as we've delisted/traded close to half of the team that existed in 2001, with more to come at the end of next year.

I hold the man responsible for our on field performance because regardless of which individual does which part, as Senior Coach that is what you take overall responsibility for and are paid accordingly! It is an absolute cop out to say that after a full 5 years in the job with full support from all and sundry that it is the players responsibility! Utter cr@p sorry. The Senior Coach has the ability to change the list or the players on it or their attitude or any other component of the players he sees fit, in order to produce a result.

The humiliating manner in which he subserviently worshipped his previous club wil haunt me forever. I have never seen that done ever before or since by any club!

The only area of shared responsibility here in my opinion if that of the Richmond Board who appointed someone who was largely incompetent in the first place with few credentials and no track record and then persisted with him for well beyond a reasonable time.

As far as I'm concerned the Assistant Coach, (of Defenders) at Melbourne has finally gravitated to a role he has the acumen to manage. I wish him a very long career there!

Dunno about you fella, but where I have worked, if you dont produce in 5 years they start sacking people! Why should a footy coach be any different! I would suggest at his level of remuneration perhaps 3 years would have been more than reasonable as it would in the corporate world. Just because he spoke like a bogun doesnt mean he was being paid to act like one. If this man was drawing $500Kpa for Packer and didnt deliver how long do you think he would last?

The coach has final say on recruitment and on players. If players are not playing well, its his decision to get new ones.

Frawley not only persisted with bad players, he brought even worse ones to the club like King, Szille and Hudson, and he wrecked the promising careers of young players

Also , ingenious planning by Daniher, with the Spud there, and with Spud's top shelf reputation that most of the footy public knows he possesses in the form of strategies, will undoubtedly deflect any critisism. In regards to the delusional comment, my point was if you thought the club was in 'premiership mode' then you were deluded and Spud doesn't control your thoughts! Did I explain that simply enough for you?

As for the A & B dribble, I have no problem with opinions. I just don’t rate people posting crap to add weight to their argument.

The Conditioning Team would be held responsible for getting the players fit. They write the running/weights/cross training programs not the coach. I don’t think you’re correct about the fitness of the players whilst Frawley was there as their time trials/testing would rank very similar to most teams. I would say his game plan along with poor skills (many turnovers) made the team look unfit.


The only thing I was whisked away for was to find an object large enough to insert into your mums beef curtains........luckily she was happy to handle my manhood!!

He is the opposition now gang, if he thought we were feral because we eat our own, Spud you aint seen nothing yet my man. You cant win, you lose we will pay out on you, you lose, we take even greater delight in paying out on you. Spud, forever and a day you just dont know how to make the right move do you?
