I think at times he does it deliberately.

Will get beaten in the contest, so therefore jumps early to negate the opposition ruckman. The balls hits the ground virtually where its bounced & its hoped our on-ballers will win the EVEN money battle to get the pill from the centre.

Just a theory of mine. It happens too often for it not to be deliberate.

It put us at too much of a disadvantage last week against King - it can't keep happening.

Geelong had FAR more first use of the ball when McLaren was in there.

Will he time ONE (just ONE) centre bounce contest properly this weekend?

Just wondering.
Considering he's rated as the 4th tier ruckman he's doing quite alright, every game he plays he's slowly becoming another Jamie Charman :D

He's improving,... the Charman comparison is a bit of a long bow to draw.

Good luck to the kid though. Loves his footy.

agree with Bobby, agree with Tez's sentiment of "Considering he's rated as the 4th tier ruckman he's doing quite alright", and agree with Xplo's sentiment of "Good luck to the kid though. Loves his footy."

The kid isn't a natural. But he's playing with a decent sized ticker and and has certainly put in when those of greater ability have been out injured. He deserves his shot at a medal because of this. I give him full marks for squeezing every ounce out of his abilities, and playing with huge spirit.

actually Dylan is a prime example of why it drives me nuts when people waffle on about the salary cap.

he's not a superstar but has learned to give his all, because of the superior practices of the club, quality coaching and quality leadership. would he play the way he plays at another club if he didn't have the coaches or leadership or superior practices of the Lions? - I don't think so, and that got nothing to do with the salary cap.

F1 will do OK - all he has to do is provide a contest and whack it our way, any way he is able.

He's under-rated. The way he drops back onto the flanks, and provides another option to block up space and be a target off halfback was excellent against the Saints. He'll make the Port ruckmen accountable if he can get free. His contested marking has improved heaps this year.
