Tim where's the announcement of the rest of it?

Remember when the AFL announced earlier this year about commissioning 'cups' for Premierships in the days when flags were only awarded, but it was limited to one cup per club and up to the club if they wanted all previous flags noted on that cup, or could pay and have one cup per flag?

Well I was happy to see the announcement today by DHL and Downie about the Brisbane Lions, Fitzroy Past Players Assn, Historical society etc, all chipping in together to get 1 cup per Fitzroy premiership made, all to be housed in Melbourne.

And the first of those, comemerating the 1944 Premiership, being presented at the Fitzroy Past Players dinner in 2 weeks time.

A good gesture from all parties.

Dyson must have flipped his wig, but great to see every one chipping in to assist in this way and the cups will look bonza in Melbourne.

He was there to help promote the Past Players 50th Dinner Dance on the 26th June and that's great because we all have to support each other.
Apparantly they are going to present the 1944 "VFL" cup and Clen Denning and Laurie Bickerton will be there together with Normie Johnstone. I think that it would be great for the Fitzroy President to be there, as it was his Club that won the thing!

Brisbane have been reasonably supportive of the Reds and I think that the basic feeling of a lot of people has changed a bit over the last couple of years, so there is no reason why the ol' QC can't changed his mind either.
