Business & Finance E-tax and 'shared secrets'

i'm doing my e-tax at the moment ( i know, it's late, i know) and was all ready to lodge it until it got to the verification process. the first step was fine (name, address, etc) but the second - 'shared secrets' - wouldn't let me lodge it. it only allows me to enter details under the 09-10 field for BSB, account n.o and account name, and in both 10-11 and 09-10 for gross payment. this is the first time i have ever filled out a tax return so maybe none of these shared secrets exist on file? i've filled out each available heading as appears applicable but it's not making any progress.

any ideas on how to fix it (aside from calling th eATO who aren't open atm)? thanks

I use an old ATO Statement to verify identity. Shared secrets didn't work for me either and I've used it for years.

First tax return or first using eTax? If it's your first ever then perhaps wait til Monday.

both (first return and first using etax) - am thinking i'll hold off til the morning and call them then, but it's the sort of thing you just want to knock over asap. appreciate the advice
