RODNEY Eade has ruled out a potential return to senior coaching at Port Adelaide, telling the Power's coaching panel on Tuesday night that he intended to remain at Collingwood.

This is certainly good news for us and probably for Rodney who would surely not like the idea of moving to his third state. i do like perts attitude to the situation, as opposed to MM's willingness to let his students go. i did understand MM's position, but they still had a job to do. you cannot complete a major project without key personnel in the closing stages.

Mick loved the idea of having spawned senior coaches, it made him appear like the grand master. Didnt care much what effect it might have on the finals campaign.

Let's not rule anything out post-season.

Rocket won't be announcing that he's leaving or thinking about so deep into the finals campaign. Pert clearly laid down the law here that nobody gets poached or loses focus while we're still in the race, and Rocket/Port seem happy to respect that. Once that's over however, Rocket can "re-think" his position.

But if it turns out Caro's right and Eade is staying for the long haul, congratulations Brett Ratten. Port's doesn't have the best list, but there is some good young talent coming through and I wish them all the best for the future. Also, I'd be pretty rapt with Eade staying. He is an asset to the club I wouldn't fancy losing.

I didn't think anyone really cared if Eade stayed or left.
He was only instated to save face for Mick pulling out of the director of coaching position, and he still talks about the players as though they are not his team.

yea and he spent the last year as coach whining to the media about what a raw deal he agreed to and how he wouldnt be staying on.
It was an appalling show of loyalty, it was unprofessional, childish. and destabilising to the club.

I'm rapt eade is staying and more so if he stays long term. Eade is a safe pair of hands and I like his steadying influence and the experience he brings to the club.

Now all we need at seasons end is to bolster our assistant coaches - Cameron ling would be a good get if he was interested in coaching. Would also like to see an upgrade to our vfl coaching and the sky is the limit.

im taking the news on face value however I do find it strange that both eade and port havent actually been quoted themselves saying eade is out

the cynic in me says that whatever is being said today to try and not destabilize collingwood.

im 90% taking these articles as true, but after a year of hearing how Boak was off to geelong I would just prefer to read direct quotes from eade saying no himself
