Another great game today by Eagleton. He is particularly damaging with his long left foot kicks.

That's quite a few good games in a row now and with a steady stream of good games last year. He is a good player. Only 2 years ago we were bagging him like crazy. He doesn't get tagged like West and Johnson.

I always liked Eagleton because he seemed to always try. He used to get himself into trouble Now he gets big possessions.

Congratulations nathan, you made it.

I have always been a fan of Eagle since his Port days, i have never doubted his ability but he was at the cross roads of his carrear and it shows how much he has turned himself into a valuable player of the team.

He will poll extremely high in the B&F. And wouldnt it bite some the supporters on the @$$ if he won it.

Go The Eagle.

He does it all, for an outside player he very rarely shirks a physical contest. I think the last time he did that was against Geelong R1 last year, he has just kept improving from that day onwards.

Took three terrific grabs today and really made the opposition pay when he got the ball. The bloke is up there in our elite group as far as I am concerned.

It is great to read something positive about Eagleton because he has worked very hard at getting back into good form and lets hope he can maintain it all season.

I thought Eagleton really inflicted damage today, although he does tend to run himself into trouble on occasions and needs to be more precise with his kicking into the forward 50.

Otherwise, he is really shaping up into a consistent performer for us, and I'm glad to see him paying the club back for their faith in him.

I always thought the Eagleton / Montgomery trade would take some years for us to get in the black.

Monty has been good for the Power but he is 30 now and Eagleton is still only 25.

I think we're edging closer to breaking even and will eventually finish in the black with this one.

I've always wondered what Wallace seen in Eagleton but since the middle of last year he has certainly changed his style of play.

Today against the Hawks he was almost BOG.

let's hope he can keep it up especially next week agaist the Power.

Lets hope his great against his old club this week.

Agreed, we really do need him to play a solid 4 Q against Port.
There midfield has normally given us nightmares but with no Francou or Stevens plus Eagleton and West in good form the balance may switch our way.

Would very much like to see Gilbee add to our midfield depth next week and Cross must be in the mix.

Surely you guys have to mention the air he was getting in some of those marks.
He didn't have the right to intercept some of those kicks, and to see him jump and take a mark over some bloke who was almost double his height (Did you see that...Who did he jump over:eek: ?)
And he took marks when he was really against the wall in terms of disposal towards him (At one point he took a mark, which noone would have blamed him if he dropped, or if it came to ground the hawks had the entire centre open to them and instant goal)
I know the recruiters say ' Great / Strong mark for his size' for the recruits but today he marked things that suggested that comment belonged to him.
What happened to that poster that used to stick up for him so much (Handle wa No10 or something Eagleton related)?

Haven't given it a lot of thought but I suspect we need to drop a tall for a small. Did you go to the game today ? or where you just busy phoning the ABC ? ;)

Looks to have a pretty firm grip of where he stands amongst the playing group. The man is playing great footy and loving every minute of it.

He is now a gun, a top line player. Hew gets 20 every week and the way he uses the ball is first class. He also takes strong marks and is tough and courageous. I think part of the reason for his improvement is Plough played him a lot as a flanker, Rohder has given him a chance in the midfield and he has taken it

The way he has resurrected his career over the last year has been absolutely phenominal... I will admit that the beginning of last year I was bagging the crap outta him and hoping he would be given the arse but he has (and I am happy to admit it) made me eat humble pie...

As a few others have mentioned re: the marks he took this time last year he woulda crapped himself and ducked his head as soon as he heard footsteps... lets hope he can keep it goin against his old side cos we need him, westy johnno (everyone actaully... even Street... just) with all cylinders firing and on top of their game!

GO BULLDOGS!!! :D

The Eagle is a God, a man amongst men

The way he has turned out his career has been sensational. He looked gone early last year, now I can see him playing 6 or 7 more good years with us

He was sensational today

I hope he maintains his good form. A vital player for us this season.

Eagle has proven me wrong. I was one of the dissenters who thought he was a liability for us. But he has proven to be a very valuable players for us in the last 16 or so weeks. Runs the lines, penetrating kick, puts his body on the line (which was my main criticism of him in the past) and generally plays with much more passion now. In the future, I hope I can also be wrong about my criticism of McMahon, who can also become a very damaging player in a similar vein to Eagle. Squibbed a marking contest again yesterday, but did butter up later with a hard fought contested possession which resulted in a goal for us in the 3rd qtr.
