Earliest I have pulled the pin was half time - 97 prelim final against the Bulldogs.

I still reckon we could have won the premiership that year as well - awfully disappointing to lose to the Bulldog scum - Liberatore, Jose Romero, Mark West and Jim Cook. Still have nightmares. Oh well at least we got them back in 98 hey?

Wasn’t the 1993 preliminary final such an awesome victory, we smashed Essendon that day.....boy those were good times?

Unfortunately I watched that one right to the end... I only pull the pin when we're losing. What sort of fans would stop watching when we're in front? Madness.

Oh the joys of being a Western bulldog fan on that joyous day. :D

Many missed the second half that day because of their cockiness :p

I was at the game yesterday, and i tell ya to see so many crows supporters leave early is a disgrace!! If you wanna stay around for the wins, do the hard yards and stay around for the losses! As the saying goes...you cant know what a good feeling is without the bad ones! Win, lose or draw! If you're a true supporter you'd stay till the end! (unless you have a legit reason)!!

I see no real problem in people leaving early, they paid up went along. Whats worse the guy who walks aout in disgust or the guy who spends the rest of the game throwing abuse at his own teams players or picking out the "delistees"

people need to get the **** off their high horses and realise everyone gets into football in a different way

The guy that takes the ticket from another poor guy who cant get 1 and then leaves early spending the rest of the game throwing abuse at his players

Yep, i agree :thumbsu:. If you want to celebrate the good time, you have to be willing to sit through the tough time.

I have never left a game early. As difficult as the game was to watch from time to time, it’s harder to leave early. Supporters who leave early, shit me off.

if i'm able to watch the game, i'd sit through it from start to finish no matter how bad it is.
if i miss the game due to work or other reasons, i usually follow the scores online and tape the game at home; if the crows win, i'd watch it, but if they lose, i wouldn't bother. if crows were getting thrashed and i come home before the game is over (like the StKilda game or the Brisbane game where crows only scored like 5 goals for the whole game and Bassett was one of the goal scorers for adelaide), i'd still sit through it...no matter how bad it is.

i heard of many doggies supporters that left that game with 10 mins to go, only to find out when they got to their cars that we had won

HAHAHAHA!!

I heard from a friend that was at the game (i was overseas) that some left at half time and were very cocky and let it be known that they were going to line up for GF tickets.

That's ridiculous. Every club has supporters that leave early. Every supporter follows their side in different ways. When the game is well beyond doubt, I leave. My choice. Say what you like but that doesn't make me a true supporter. On Sunday I was too angry to sit and watch us play like absolute crap. There are only too many times I can see us kick it to noone inside forward 50 before I go insane.

I get more annoyed by people who clap and cheer the team off after a game like Sunday. I'll more than likely get howled down, but I don't see any reason to cheer or a crap, mediocre effort. If we lose when we've given our all and weren't good enough like games against the Hawks at home, let 'em know we appreciate. BUt if they dish absolute crap up like on Sunday, IMO, they don't deserve it.

Agreed. Especially those that leave with less than a goal the difference. I just can't work it out, why bother coming for the game if you are going to miss the end. biazarre.

Anyone who leaves early IMO are a poor supporter (emergencies excepted).

always sit to the bitter (or sweet) end

as a South Adelaide supporter since the late 1950s i've become immune to the depression of staying to the end when the team is playing like shite

however, i have no problem with people leaving early, it does annoy me but it appears that most do leave early from every game due to wanting to get on the 1st bus or getting out of the car park - although it does intrigue me when the game is so close (even within a point) and people leave!

i probably get more pissed off at supporters who just bag player(s) incessantly - i dont expect us to be sycophantic with supporting but the other extreme of abuse etc is just not necessary - as far as i'm concerned, providing a player gives 100% then abuse is not warranted
There's a fine line between criticism and vitriol
