yeah thats crap, like if you put a bet on you should get your money back if he doesn't play. Just like a late scratching. Does anyone know why it doesn't work in AFL.

Because its fixed odds. Its the same with fixed odds horse racing. If you're silly enough to bet on a horse before its accepted and it doesnt get a start, then you do your money.
