What position does he actually play?
His best game for us from memory was one of the last games of the season in 2024 where he played in the midfield. Has he played there since?

I want this guy to succeed, but my confidence in that happening has dropped off.
Yep the match against Dees in 24 was the best I've ever seen him play.

Dees were like training cones that day, so it's hard to know how good Ed's performance really was.

I liken it to macraes 3 goal game against the eagles tbh.
Melbourne had checked out, it was an uncontested training drill much like pre season games

the main thing i want to see from him is desperation, if you cant get it, be a tackling machine, he has got the wing span for that at least
just meanders through a game, you cant be doing that , especially as a midfielder
Put him with Maynard at training for a month and tell him “copy everything he does”

Might enduce an Elijah Hollands style panic attack from Ed.

We could have 2 if stupid Peter ate more oysters and listened to Barry White all the time. Could have 7!!
Didn't even need to do that. With IVF, we could have a fully stocked freezer ready to thaw out Nick's whenever we wanted one - pretty sure that's how it works.

We could basically have disposable Nicks? Paper straw like collections of him. Imagine the possibilities
I'd pop a foetal Nick in the microwave on defrost to get a few choirs done. He'd do them sublimely.

Does anyone else remember the story (Pies myth?) that Des Tuddenham thought Harry O’Brien (as he was then) should toughen up? So Tuddy took him down to St Kilda beach and tackled and tackled him, until Harry transformed into a hardened defender.

Admittedly, I may have dreamt this, but where is Tuddy now in our hour of need?

And what would he think of Allan?🥺

I thought I read somewhere that Tuddy was battling some illness. Just checked, it is bowel cancer.

Not just Ed. 90% of team could use some Tuddy 'love'. We'd have to be the softest tackling teram in the league. We simply cannot stick a hard tackle, or at least prevent the opposition from getting the ball out even when we do. In fact, we are a very poor contested team altogether. It may be just my observation bias, but it seems to me that alomost every other team are better contested marks, better and tougher tacklers and can shake our tackles more readily.
I hope at least Gus will change that.

If he did that with the youth of today they wouldn’t come back to the club 😅

I think manicpie is the man to take Ed to the beach and smash him for a few hours to knock some toughness into him.

The only possible downside is the trauma that later manifested as HL's lunacy.

I was almost beaten up by a couple of 13yo kids recently, I'll give it a go but I can't guarantee instant results

One of our softest players was dropped, thank goodness. Embarrassing efforts, especially defensively, for which there's no excuse.

Jesus. You're one of the blokes raving on about looking after player's mental health. It's just embarrassing.

Calling a player soft after saying you were giving up football after the Freo loss because we lost a game of football… who’s soft?…. Quite ironic.

And yet here you are still typing.
