Yes, I always find it interesting Ed being off in the fourth quarter.....In the VFL this year Ed has dominated in the 4th due to his fitness.

First time I’ve come away from a game feeling more positive about Ed. I’m even gonna say ‘persist’.

One thing I loved about his game today is that he stuck his tackles. He looked much stronger and forced a few stoppages at important moments.

Game high 32 pressure acts, too.

That's well and good ,but the reason he is tackling more is because he is second to the ball.

We need more ball winners to support nick, can't just keep players because they tackle well.

What I would like to see is him breaking away and taking the game on more. Using his pace. A bit more game time and centre bounce time.

I feel the kid has turned the corner and as a team we need to start trying to bring him into the game a bit more he runs to position alot and for some reason we don't give it to him was super strong in the contest today onwards and upwards

My observations are the same. Ed is growing his game.

He worked hard to present, but was rarely considered; that might just take some time.

This is going unnoticed and glad someone mentioned it. Ed was playing a bit of a run with role on Harley and it was working I thought. Looks like they put his endurance to work.

People’s knock on Ed was that he wasn’t tough enough yet here he is near the top of our tackle count again…

His defensive work has improved almost an unbelievable amount recently. His positioning can still improve, but his defensive effort has gone from really unreliable to solid.

True but we really need him to become a ball winner. We really lack ball winners.

I was hoping he would be unleashed and give the license to just hunt the ball.

Keep playing the kid, show confidence in him and his confidence will slowly grow.
He's got some exceptional athletic qualities, my advice to him would be to work on his skills both left and right... powerful, flat kicks that reach the target quickly. Defences hate those, makes them scramble. At his height he should also be an aerial threat but haven't seen any marking ability so far. Another thing to work on.
His dad was a gun, if he gets anywhere near his level I'd be happy. Agree with others, play him in the middle.

I can’t recall any panic fumbles / turnovers which is a big win in my eyes. Stuck some tackles. Broke a tackle or two. Is learning to take his time and keep his cool. Not a world-beating game but I can call it progress.
