I am voting for joe for the following reasons:

1. He presided over a period in which we played in 2 PFs and 1 Gf after being wooden spooners in 1997.

2. Under his presidency our membership has risen to an all time high.

3. His initiatives saw the rebuilding of the football department from the embarassment it was in 1997 (with not even a weight room according to Danny corcoran) to one that is arguably among the best in the league

4. He is not a wimp. He stands up for the club, and for our players.

5. Membership services and communications (eg Demon travel, Demon home loans, Dee TV Demon radio, etc etc etc) all emerged during his tenure.

6. From my own personal experience I know that he is accessible and receptive to feedback from the members without any hint of arrogance or condescention.

7. Under Joe, the members' views count in a way that they never did in the past.

8. He is a bona fide leader, and a man of principle.

9. Joe's team of Givoni, Sword, Dimmick, Stooke, Fowler, Eddy McNabb and Dewhirst as a group is head and shoulders above the competition. They work well together, are innovative and have a clear and constructive vision for the club. Most of the opposition's policies are borrowed straight from them without any admission that this is so. Melbourne First have also shown a readiness to consult on a face to face level with the membership and to be available to answer the hard questions that is most pleasing.
