Seeing as Brent Prismall will supposedly be out for the 1st half of the season I'm guessing he will be placed on the long-term injury list.
That being said does this open the door for one of new rookies to get a taste of the AFL sooner than expected and if so who would be the 1st in line?

Magin?

To answer the original question, Bryce Carroll & Kade Klemke would probably be the first two in line to be elevated to the senior list.

I thought he was a rookie as well until I surprisingly saw his name on the senior list on the EFC website.

I guess they're having mechanical difficulties then if there is indeed 41 players on that list though.

Also, if Magin was on the senior list, we would only have 5 rookies (and all clubs are allowed 6) and I doubt we would have made that mistake.

Magin has already been added to the senior list.

Magin hasn't been elevated. You'll notice Michael Quinn on that list as well.

Regardless, it's too early to place anyone on the LTI list, and why we'd do it at this stage if we could is beyond me, Prismall's still a chance to come back reasonably early in the season.

I can't see us promoting a rookie early in the year even if Prismall is placed on the LTI list, but Magin would have to be at the top of the pile at this stage.

Yeah, even if Prismall is placed on the LTI list, i don't think we'll promote a rookie. Doesn't seem much point, we'll still have 30odd players to pick from each game as it will be early in the season, unless ofcourse we get 20 injuries in the first 4-5 games, which is always a chance:o But yeah, don't think we'd bother promoting anyone.

This is both lists.

Unlikely that they'd play even if we did elevate a rookie.

So hyperthetically i'd say either Magin or Klemke.
Klemke already has the build going for him, something the others probably lack.

Under the new rules, a rookie can be elevated after round 11 without a LT injury cant they?
If so, look out for Bryce Carroll in the second half of the year.

Too early for this question, I'll respond to this after I have had a look at what the rookies have to offer during the NAB cup.

Somebody would have to really impress to be elevated though, we should have 30 to 35 players to choose from through rounds 1 to 10 so i cant see a need to just elevate somebody for sake of elevating.

A rookie will not be promoted unless guaranteed of getting a game because as soon as you promote them you have to pay them Senior match payments.

Need to be a pretty special rookie to break into our senior side if we are reasonably injury free.

A rookie wont be promoted until at least 5 or 6 weeks into the year.

You want the rookie to be consistently dominating at VFL level before considering an upgrade.

i can't see a rookie being promoted any time soon given guys like neagle, gumbleton, jetta, zaharakis, hurley, lonergan, dempsey, pears, myers, daniher, reimers, hocking, houli will all likely feature in nab cup and be playing more often than they did in 08. adding to these younger players we'll also be getting more games out of prismall, lucas and davey.

hope i don't jink anyone...
