Cal has mentioned that clubs are assessing a trade for Tsatas. Can’t break into the ess midfield with questions marks over his kicking and tackling.

After drafting Dylan Stephen’s this would be such a Roo move!! We could had him to the long list of bad trades.

One of the most bizarre top draft picks in history. Most knew he was a bad kick, yet he was still widely regarded as a top pick regardless..
It's very odd that a bad kick could go top 5.

And yet here we are discussing the possibility that either no club will want him, or won't pay more than a deep draft pick.. because of his kicking.

Will Phillips & Elijah Tastas in the same team

That would be some achievement from North
I hope he goes to the Tigers - I would pay money to watch Tastas and Taranto playing kick to kick.

Surprised at this.

His kicking is horrific, but he gets a bit of it. He's better than Hobbs.

The dons midfield is a bit of a mess though, in terms of personnel.

Caldwell has turned into a jet, Parish has drifted into oblivion, Durham looks pretty good and the others look ordinary.

Their midfield next year could be Merrett, Caldwell, Durham, Parish, Reid (they are the favourites in my eyes). Obviously a few others floating through as well.

Wouldnt shock me if none of Tsatas, Perkins or Hobbs are there next season.

I know his kicking ain't great but is it really that bad??

The best way to describe it would be a ruckmans kick. His ball drop is high and wobbly. He has no penetration either. And probably can't kick over 40 meters.

He could probably get to a point where it improves enough to be serviceable. However what role can he play? There's no such thing as a pure inside bull who dishes out in this current game. All the rule changes encourage outside play. He lacks pace too.

LOl if his kicking was elite he would be considered 'Elite'
But just a bit of info
Taranto DE 68% this year
Wardlaw 57%
lol!!! Kicking efficiency for Tarranto is 54%. But hey use handball efficiency to bump up his disposal efficiency……

Sneaky sneaky…….

LOL !!!!! What do you expect from a player thats in and under at center clearance
Think about how silly your comparison is Taranto is a B & F winner in a team that played in a GF

You must be Karen Cornes

Tarranto is very good - his kicking is terrible. Kicking comparison is valid.

But hey - you have crush on a butcher. Good for you.

So why was he drafted high? It's not like he was drafted 10 years ago when a player could get away with being an inside mid only handballing 25 times to his team mates

What’re his hands like?
Elite handballer and clearance player, lacks physicality and needs to improve his defensive game, as many weaknesses albeit maybe different as someone like Ned Long would've had as a 20 year old, Tsatas is a professional and competitive kid, also think he's an emotional kid who needs some love and the right coach to get the best out of him.

I think he should find another club (If there is one) for a fresh start.

Wild Bill You've got Tsatas spelt incorrectly in the thread title

I wondered that at the time too. Apparently he had breakaway speed, but I'm yet to see that either.
It wasn't just Dodoro either. The wider draft pundits had him rated inside the top handful of mids. Perhaps the perceived pace, his good hands and great work ethics had him rated so high.

Showed elite traits in u18s, especially at stoppage. As good of a ball winner as there was in his draft class.
I imagine most teams would have had him in their top 10 on their draft boards. Nothing really bizarre about the pick.
In hindsight Bomber's probably weren't a great fit for him given their list but I assume they were looking for more speed in their midfield. Bombers have a pretty ordinary track record of developing players they have taken high in the draft.
They seem to be much better at at hitting on guys later and mature age players.
Hoping he gets a second chance at another team, still think he can be a very good player.
