I know I will get shot down in flames here by PAfolwr BUT our list has the lowest number of hid between the ages of 17 and 21. I think we really need to get players that are 18 and develop them.

Don't get me wrong, I like Ware and I think he could make it at the AFL but we need to really get the bottom of our list sorted out and I don't think we can afford to get a 21/22 year old and put a year or so development into him. I don't think Ware can step straight in and play AFL footy in his first year so IMHO it defeats the purpose of the excersise.

Nah. No chance of that.
That's a fair statement and I was referring to the general "rule" that has become a norm nowadays wrt so called older players. If that makes sense.

If the crows weren't so determined to keep the early draft pick, it could have been used to get a good mid to top-range type player or two. Bit like we did with Wakelin, Schofield etc.
The Crows IMO have an age gap somewhat "bare" between your younger players and your older "stars". One or two crucial injuries, and you get in trouble a bit too easily.

Matthew Stokes is a much better player than Ware. We should go for him if anyone.

Pull the other one. Just because Ware is a Bulldogs doesn't make him superior to Eagles player. I know which one of those players is on the soft side and it ain't Stokes

I'm the same as you Stiffy. He's got some attraction, but at this stage rookie list or not at all. We need those lower age players for the future.

I can't see Stokes getting picked up. Great little footballer, but the word "little" is the key word unfortunately. Too small and light for AFL footy.

What has Ware done in the SANFL compared to Stokes?

Stokes has dominated games in the midfield as well as kicking goals up forward

Centrals are the dominant SANFL team but mainly because not many of thier players go on to play AFL.

Ok nuff rubbish.

Stokes is a better player and Im a mad Centrals and Noddles fan. Stokes may not be as quick but he is fitter and can play more true midfield roles as well as true forward roles to a better degree than Ware. More inside than Ware and overall a better player and younger. Both have te ability to do the uncanny. Ware prob has better disposal skills however.
