Elite Small Forward NUMBER 1

This week we come up against one of our biggest challenges
we always struggle with small forwards last week thursfield and farmer werent helped out and got cut up by Milne (btw i rate thursfield and farmer) but this week we come against the frenchman Lecras!

This blokes a gun we might have to bite the bullet and although i know newi gives us alot of attacking we might have to play him in a shut down role, if we stop lecras we go a long way to winning the game

Id like to see Farmer (with sufficient help) get given a crack
but i still think newi might be our best option at this stage of everyones development

He plays as a tall anyway, hence one of our talls will probably go to him. Need to shut down him and Kennedy.

McKinley is the other one likely to bob up and kick 2-3 goals.

Barring selection surprises I would expect Thursfield to take Le Cras first and McGuane to pick up Kennedy.

Or could it be, as many here have been predicting, that Gourdis will get elevated, come straight into The Seniors and trot to full back to stand Kennedy?

LeCras is a small who can take a grab but pretty similar in the way he plays to Milne. Agree that he is a danger and if I deadset set see Thursfield line up against him I'm going to throw a tantrum. WTF was he doing playing on Milne...really. Got to think that was a brain explosion in the box.

I would actually play Farmer on him. Let's see what the kid has. Yeah it's a risk but he's been earmarked for that role and there will be occasions when he gets beaten. Secret is in how you rebound from a beating.

Bring it on I say and give him first crack.

Thursfield was probably on Milne because The Rat is by far the Saints 1st choice as a go-to .marking target inside 50 in Roo's absence. Thursty's main strength is as a spoiler but was exposed when the ball hit the grass.

Le Cras also gets up on the lead somewhat so may well draw the same match-up.

We do though need to consider how to combat Big Cox if he starts to push down the corridor towards the goal... may be too big for some of our defenders to handle!

with connors back newman will take lecras, connors and lids to offer the rebound.

farmer is to much of a spud, i think its perminately time to sacrifice newmans drive and play him on the number one small

He is back in his place now. If Moore is back this week i'd let him play on Lecras early and see how he goes.

well our backline is in the wrong hands then isn't it. if there were a vote if farmer is a dud or not, the dud vote would win. make a poll.

Andy will do it on his ear and get 30 touches in the process.
