I know we have a draft thread, but I think a lot of discussion gets overlooked or unseen so I hope it's ok to discuss a player we may seriously be looking at in the ND.

So my take is that he may be a slider due to some injury concerns, however in the BF phantom draft he was taken top 5, are we seriously any chance of getting him?

No way he goes top 5, on BF they can take the punt that Port won't take Longer but in reality I doubt GWS will take such a big risk when he is the out and out best ruckman in the draft

Port are unlikely to take him so I see him going to GWS between 7 and 11 as I doubt Melbourne would pass on him.
He does have a slight chance of falling through

They dont get a chance to, pick 12 belongs to Brisbane now

Poor attitude to training and stuff like that, or a poor attitude in that he's a ********? Aaron Fiora attitude or Ben Cousins attitude?

Darling sliped to pick 20 somthing and he was as pose to be top ten..

could be the same with this bloke and we will interview him and make that attitude judgment our selves.

if so we get dusty to give him the DONT ARGUE every now and then so he dosent winge ;)

Yeah good point, I can't keep up with all the first round trades.

Brissy are in the market for a KPP with atleast 1 or 2 of their highish picks so that works in Richmond's favour

Such significant and persistent hamstring issues at the age of 17 will naturally see him slide. If he gets to us, pretty sure we'd take him and be very pleased.

If he doesn't, won't automatically be looking to self-harm - as long as we don't do something ostensibly ridiculous with pick 15. Pick 2 of Kavanagh, Grigg at Docherty with 15 and 26 and I'll be over the moon

Is this Sam Soliman at RFC vid thread-worthy? I reckon it is: http://www.richmondfc.com.au/roar vision archive/tabid/11454/contentid/400736/default.aspx#playvideo

Put Kavanagh with Soliman for a bit...

Is there any footage of Kavanaugh? ive checked youtube and cant find anything! surely for a kid thats so highly rated (i for one hope we snare him or toby greene) there would be some sort of highlight package so people who havnt seen him in action could get a look!

Interesting, isn't it. In this thread most seem to be all over a guy who is said to have loads of talent but big question marks over his application, and 2 threads down many are saying Connors has wasted his talent

I'll back the club here. Hope we get him and that he vindicates that choice, but if he doesn't make it to 15 then look to other fish without much sleep lost

Anyway, everyone's a superstar 5 minutes after their name is drafted. Rookie draft is where the recruiting resources should be reflected.

Yep, back the club. They've hardly put a fut wrong the last few years.

FYI Jason Phelan - who will do the AFL site's mock draft - predicts this am that Kavanagh will be taken at 15-25

Says Adams will be 8-15

Kavanagh's extra 3 inches do appeal, though Adams sure can find it, is tough and is apparently a bloke of very high quality

I'd feel safer with Adams, but more excited about Kavanagh.

Would love to get Adams but I just can't see GWS letting him slip unfortunately as they would be targeting him as a future leader of the club.

Adams is clearly a fine individual who enjoys it in the clinches etc, but his footage is a little hacky (ie win the ball but generally just throws it on the boot)

So does the 2011 Brownlow medallist I suppose and a midfielder with a defensive bent would be ideal

As yet I'm not a huge fan of Greene. Would rather he be gone by 15 than Adams or Kavanagh. If (in the unlikely event) we had a choice, I'm betting we'd go with Taylor.

So stoked we have 26 too.

Have to agree, the more you look at the candidates in this draft the happier you are we were able to pickup p26.

I quite like Greene, he looks a little smaller than the others but his clean hands are what impressed me.

I wouldn't mind Grigg at 26, and am not really sure why the lack of love for Nelson. TV passed him up for our p55 in the phantom but I wouldn't be disappointed if we took him at p26 depending on who was still available. He is a ball magnet with unbelievable speed and good delivery, I can't really see what's not to like.

I'd be very happy with Nelson at 26, only question I have is his ability to play in other positions. But I think he would more than warrant being selected in the first round, reminds me alot of conca, and could go much higher than some think.

I would rather we took a risk this year if choosing between the two.
I think Conca is going to be a good player for us, and it's too early to really tell, but I would take Heppell in a heartbeat.
So, this time I would 'gamble' on Kavanagh.

Kavanagh and Crozier / Markworth / Ellis / Mckenzie would be great. We need one mid that's more inside, and one that's more outside (in my opinion)

If we got Kavanagh and Markworth I'd die of happiness.

Won't happen though. Markworth won't last until 26. I can see us passing on Crozier at 26 as well.

adams or kavanagh at 15 would be great.

at 26 brandon ellis seb ross or docherty, or if we look to tall needs bolger ruck, mcinnes kpd, talia kpd maybe kersten kpf.

55 may land downie if we got real lucky or a hard at it mid like clay smith.kpfs nick murphy and julien dobosz, or kpd in brody mihocek. we can look to needs here.

im really hoping we use picks 71 and 77. id be more than happy to take daniel farmer of collingwoods hands at 71. i really liked this kid and i you dont los your talent over night. at 77 if we dont have a ruckman someone like ben brown or kpp tom lee.
psd horsley
rookie picks carnell, kyle hartigan, willie wheeler, mirra or give contin another chance.

really is hard to comment when one has seen so little of the players. i will say though i think there are real opportunities to improve the list with slightly older players.its supposed to be a shallow draft but i think there a decent players to be had right thru it.

I think the best option that may be available at 55 is Ellis-Yolmen, a big modied mid
