I think its time we finally gave this guy an extended run at FF. With McDougall injured long term, Lynch looking horrible and with no other real options I think he is our best bet. I think he could be more successful than David Haynes was filling this role because Embley is a bit taller, can actually take a contested mark and is a better goal kicker. He has always done well whenever he has played in the forward line he just hasn't been given much of a chance and our midfield won't miss him too much.

I think he could play it at Subiaco, but not as a long term solution at FF.

Good lead and mark, but he's not big or strong enough to give consistent contests in the air on the road. Certainly better prospect than Lynch, because he reads the play on the way into our forward line and can actually hang onto a mark.

Realistically, if doogs is out for multiple weeks, we're in for a scary month or so.

If worst came to worst I'd rather sacrifice Rowan Jones. Can take a grab. Rather than pin all our hopes on him, we need to get the dynamics of the fwd 6 so they're all kicking goals. Still not ready to right off the Lynch as a temp FF.

Although our forward line didn't work today there's no reason to be too alarmed. The Crows were flooding and Matera and Doogs were first week back. Because of the flooding our midfielders seemed to hesitate in getting the ball in quickly and directly. I'm tipping a few teams (mark down Sydney and freo) will try to use the flood to negate our midfield this year - as in accept that they will get heaps of ball but nullify their effectiveness when going inside 50. Need to have a gameplan to combat this.

Long term I don't think he's the answer but in the near future I'd like if he spent some time there as a pinch hitter until McDougall and Seaby come back. I agree with Frodo, Lynch isn't a good FF but I think he's better than the last 2 games show. I suspect we'll have to endure a lot of flooding this season and some crap games as a result.

Deffinatly a short term option with the injury to McDougall and Lynch not looking very damaging. Can take a strong mark and kicks well. We might just have to sacrifice his midfield dominance for a short period.

Yeah some merit in the idea, but probably just a makeshift (but maybe our best option regardless).

We'd miss him in the middle and on the wings, he's a true game breaker when on song.

Scarlett vs Embley would be an interesting match up - more likely Harley would end up on him I guess.

Stick Gardi at full forward as an option until Doogs is back. Matera to assist with Sampi playing the odd stint there.

Embers can run well, so would be better on the half-forward line.

Hansen will improve at CHF or on the other half horward flank. He just needs to be quicker when he gets the ball as he seems a bit indecisive. His marking has improved and loved his goal today ...

A matchwinning move from Worsfold to switch Embley to FF. But I dont think it should be anything permanent, he is far too valuble in the middle of the park. It was a tough day for forwards with Adelaide's flooding tactics so I dont think you can write off Lynch just yet.

I think Lynch will continue to pinch hit there until McDougall comes back from injury.

Far too valuable with his height, endurance, size and marking ability around the ground as a midfielder to be used as anything other than a pinch-hitting full forward

Michael Embley anyone?

It would really be like having 2 Andrew Embleys out there if he lives up to his potential.

At some point early in the season it would be good to see us beat a team easily that uses the flood.

Otherwise it could be a very fustrating season seeing our team which can play some exciting footy at times be shackled by these tactics for most of the season

Definatley need a few game plans
