While Emerton scored, I'm still absolutely flabbergasted at why Souey took off Steven Reid, who was out best, for Nissa. Whilst Nissa gave us a left-sided presence, Steven Reid could have played in the middle or right, and take off Flitcroft.

Alot of work needs to be done to Blackburn. Expect a flurry of moves in January.

AND FOR ****S SAKE, START PAUL GALLAGHER.

You might like to wave as the point flies a good few yards over your head.

I know of but am not worried about the point - the point i am trying to say is that i don't care what your point is, the significance of the goal or whatever, all i care about is the final result.

I think if you knew what I was on about, you would realise that it was a mild p1sstake not directed at you. So why would i give a toss whether it means anything to you or not?

Since when did i say anything was directed at me? Like i said before, i am certain i know what you meant, but i thought i would just add my five cents that i myself only care about the final result!

Eh Matty.....I'm trying to figure out what was more painful for you last night. The Hawks drafting, the Wallabies loss, the 2-1 loss or having to put up with the Hitman's goal celebrations.
:D:D
As bad as the Hitman's celebrations were, the lad was pretty tired due to the delayed coverage so they were somewhat reduced.

Yet, the Wallabies loss was the clear lowlight of the night. :(

Blackburn are supposedly close to signing Ilie.

What is it with us and strikers past their best in recent years.
Cole, Yorke, Ostenstad, Sukur and now Ilie. C'mon Souey, groom Paul Gallagher for the sake of jeebus.

Moomba vs Myee8.

I haven't seen someone's defences twisted and turned around with such embarassing ease since Barcelona vs United in '94.

Maybe Real v. ManYoo 2002??!!;)

Was that the game Gary Walsh was in goal?

Yep, pretty sure that Walsh was in goal (the old 3 foreigners rule was in operation). The 4-0 belting by Barca at the Nou Camp.

The way they ripped apart our midfield and defence was just beyond belief.

I think Gary Pallister still has whiplash from watching the ball getting whipped past him time and time again.

I remember the way that Hristo Stoichkov and Romario terrorised our back four.

Stoichkov's all-round ability was amazing... had power, acceleration, could dribble, hit a dead ball, hold the ball up... and to think he's still running around for the Chicago Fire in the MLS...

Remember his performance in the 1994(?) World Cup. Incredible!!!

Stoichkov(?) also had a spell in Greece. I don't think that it turned out too well.

He didn't. He joined Barcelona from CSKA Sofia, then moved to Parma for a season before returning to Barcelona. CSKA took him back on loan in 97/98, and eventually he ended up in the MLS.

You are right. Just did a search.;)

Are there any other Eastern European mercurial footballers that I could be thinking of?
