English Exam

Just came back from my english exam. I must say it was easier than i expected. Surprisingly, i didn't run out of time.

The Medi-Card thing was a pretty shi tty issue, but wasn't too hard to write about. I just analysed both "articles" individually and then compared them in my conclusion. Not too hard.

On average, how many words did yall do for each section? I did bout 600 per section. Would that be enough?

Don't make me nervous for next year... ;)

I have my year 11 exam next Wednesday...looking forward to it! :)

Wasn't too bad. Did part 2 first and thought I was going to run out of time but I ended finsihing early as did most people. Our choice of texts was crap though.

Now I only have to do specialist, bio, physics and methods... ;)

I know... :D :D :D

Crikey, I wasted a lot of time during years 7 - 11 actually going to school...how foolish I was. When you get to yr 12 and have to start actually doing a lot of work, it makes me regret that former geekiness - don't waste your time on school children!;) (until yr 12 - then you better try).

600 words is enough, 450-500 is the recommended amount. Word count doesn't really matter, you just have to make sure every sentence is worth its weight in gold. ie don't waffle.

Don't stress over it now, it is in their hands.

Which texts did you write on and with point of view essay did you choose? I wrote on The Outsider and Montana 1948 and I did the editorial question in part 2.

I finished within two minutes of the end, and I went a bit overtime in the analysis part. Got a bit carried away.....

Biology and Further Maths on Monday  :o

I did mine on Montana 1948 and Dead Letter Office and did the essay (part c) for part 2. I finished with about 15mins to spare, so I went out and had some lunch:D

Wednesday i have Economics, then Maths Methods x2, Physics and finally Chemistry. Can't wait till its all over.

Loved English at school. Did two English exams in Year 12, one on a novel we analysed in class, and another on a piece of my choosing. Got an A+ for both! It's a pity the rest of my grades didn't reach the same level. :o

Don't be nervous, look foward to it.

It will be the best year of your life.

Hahaha, and i'm the queen of England:D ;)

There's two types of year 12 students, those who enjoy yr12 and those who don't. The former usually don't give a rats ass about their results, and the latter stress from day one and get what they set out to achieve.

And don't let anyone tell you otherwise, because anyone with an ENTER of 80+ who says they enjoyed yr12 are lying through their teeth.

Sorry if that scares you, but its the truth. So if you're serious about doing well in yr12, set yourself goals and stick by them. Because as I have told my slack@rse friends, "a years worth of stress and strain=a lifetime of satisfaction".

Yeh English kicked arse in Year 12 and int the TEE (in WA)
got 90% for the TEE :) ... maths was another matter :)

And like Daicos4ever said enjoy year 12, it'll be the best year of your life. And then you'll get to uni and it's crazy every night of the week.

So yeh good luck for your exams everyone .. you'll have no problems :)

What a mistake it was doing English Lit. First exam is on Wednesday which is Applicable then the next is on Friday, Calculas. Double day on monday with history in the morning and chem in the afternoon, english lit tuesday morning then physics wednesday morning. Obviously they haven't heard of giving us a break between exams. Bloody nerve racking I tell ya, considering that getting into my university course is all going to come down to me doing well in these exams.

Word of advice, don't fricking panic, breath slowly and deep...:o

Vis

AGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I thought the issue was supposed to be on something we can relate to so that we could write passionately about it:confused:

I'm aiming for 90 and I have had alot of fun, bearly done any work and i've pulled awesome results out of my arse. It isn't worth stressing over though, it is only one number. It isn't the be-all and end-all.......

I did my year 12 english exam last year. I was doing really well in english and studied heaps for the exams, but in the exam I only got a C+.

One of the questions was based on 2 articles and I thought u only had to answer the question keeping one of the articles in mind ... I was wrong :(

It didn't matter though coz I still got into the course I wanted :)
