Major fail last night. Had the ball and was surging forward, got a precious mark in the goal square. I was losing by two and the siren went, like the joker I am I thought I would be a cocky bastard and so I went for the torp, straight through got a point..

Loved the game when i first got it but have come to the conclusion its not very good at all !

so glitchy would rather play the older games on ps2! at least they had a season mode

Wow.

The game smashes every other AFL game out of the ball part. It has a perfectly fine season mode post patch.

Playing online last night
Pies v Hawks
Up by 3 goals with about 4 mins left.
Tried to start milking the clock.
Ball in my defensive 50, handballed it to teammate in goalsquare, went to rush a behind but handballed intercepted and goal! FACEPALM:eek:
Still got the win thankfully :D

I still stuff up the "press square to shoot for goal" thing.

Not so much anymore, but I still occasionally press it too early, so that my guy snaps it out of bounds on the full.

Worse is when I think my guy's within range (i.e. Hurley from 60m with nobody in the square), yet the game doesn't allow me to, meaning he just sort of chips it forward to nobody.

I had a nice one against HBK this morning.

Got a free kick right 5m out right in front of goal after the umpire had disallowed a goal I got from advantage. Without really thinking I aimed up and put a touch of an angle on the kick to suit a right foot kick....however just as I let go of the kick button I realised I actually had a left foot kick...and the ball went bang straight into the goal post.

I lost the game by 9 or so points and I'm yet to beat HBK, so was pretty annoyed at myself.

I lost a game online by 4 points the other night by failing to milk to clock. Came back from 6 goals down against Collingwood, and finally took the lead with about a minute to go. When lining up for goal though, rather than milk it down like crazy, i did it fairly quick. So yeah, a minute of in game time left, and it goes like this; Jolly down to Swan who fends a tackle and bolts away. Every other one of my midfielders decide to run towards my goal even though the ball's going the other way. Swan ambles to 50 and bombs it long to FF. My player is infront of Cloke and i'm holding spoil down so hard i'm nearly putting my fingers through the controller, but who cares, mark to Cloke in the goal square from behind. And he waits out the clock and then slots it.

On legend:-

Once lost to Gold Coast by 10 goals +. They kicked 11 behinds in the first quarter and I couldn't stop laughing, it was well funny. For the next three quarters it continued, this time they always kicked straight : (

Also in my first prelim 'post patch' last night, got 4 goals up on the Cats in the first quarter, then proceeded to only score one behind for the rest of the match and they piled on another 15 goals or thereabouts.

I'll go into more detail another time, but not completely sold on the momentum coding in the game. It's sensational in theory, and can admittedly make for some great matches, but there's something fundamentally flawed about a match becoming easier when you are on top and harder when you are behind. Maybe just offer a little more around config in the difficulty options next time around. e.g. have a momentum setting where the swings can be set to moderate or low.

rushed a point to save a 2 point lead i had with 23 seconds to go, instead of finding an option short, i go the torp and proceed to put it OOTF in the right forward pocket.

you can guess how that ended..

Playing in a fairly tight game, my opponent gets out to a 21 point lead with around 6 or 7 minutes to go.

I get a few sneaky goals, then somehow pull it in to a 1 point margin with a minute remaining.

I think "Wow, I'm a chance here!"

I win the clearance, am the benefactor of the ridiculous "suck a player in against their will, handball over the top" and my CHF runs into an open goal. The clock is going to beat me unless I kick it, so I hold down Square for about a second, from about 30 metres out directly in front.

The ball somehow sails waaaay out of bounds, and two seconds later the siren goes.

I lose by a point.

[strike]I cry myself to sleep.[/strike]
