I can see it now. Forest and City will play out a draw, and we will **** up an opportunity of getting back into the top 4 by somehow dropping points against Leicester.

I'm probably being too pessimistic though. Surely we win... surely.

It's boring. We've all moved on to next season already. ;)

Is going to be a massive off-season

Was speaking to a red fan today and his thoughts were

TAA ends up staying (I would be surprised)
Salah will stay but his wife wants to leave (I reckon he leaves)
VVD is the one that goes to Madrid. (I reckon he stays)

Diaz and Nunez also leave. (Agree on those)

I reckon deep down the stats nerds at our club want Salah to leave.

For me, Salah and VVD will stay. Alexander Arnold will go. Diaz and Nunez will depend if Liverpool can find a buyer at the price Liverpool will be looking for. At a guess Diaz will go and Nunez will stay.

This is the most realistic option that I am comfortable with happening.

Of course I won't feel comfortable until pen is put to paper. VVD surely stays but doubt lingers over Mo.

Trent is fine to leave. So is Diaz or Nunez (probably have to hold onto one for another year though).

From the sounds Ake will be joining Stones and Akanji on the sidelines long term.

Thankful we bought in Kushanov and Reis in the January window, without them and with Dias in and out of the side with injuries all season we would have been in real trouble.

He was saying Mo to PSG.
Not good enough. Depends on what buyers are out there, of course.

Agree - not enough assists and goals.

It will be good for Slot to have a squad he wants.

You won't find many backup LW's as good as Diaz. Might not be effective as a striker, but adds something different on the left.

He's been usurped by Gakpo on the LW and isn't much better than Núñez centrally. Decent player but replaceable, although how replaceable depends whether Salah stays or goes

Liverpool’s only EPL game in March, and it’s against the bottom side at home.

You’d think Slot and co will get the job done, even with a Cup final and a CL matchup with PSG overshadowing it.

Why is Diaz going? Is he unhappy?
It's a weird one, at the end of this season he has two more years left on his contract. But we massively low balled him when he joined. He's on just 55k a week.

Which is really criminally low for someone of his talent. I think Liverpool want to extend him but want to be as cheap as possible and let him earn 55k a week for another two years before in the final year of his contract, looking at maybe an extention.

But also, Diaz is 28 and when his contract ends he will be 30. So I can honestly see Liverpool letting his contract run down and letting him walk for free at 30. Having paid him just 55k a week for his entire stay at Liverpool and then getting a new LW.

I think Diaz is only unhappy cos he's getting paid much less than everyone else so might want out to maximise his earning while he is still 28. Like if we were to sell him in the summer and he goes somewhere else to earn 100-120k a week, it gets Diaz his bag.

And as I said, I dont think we want to re-negotiate the contract, think we're happy with him on 55k. So there might be some movement there in the summer. Perhaps sell cos he wants out to make more money, or we cave and pay him more.

That is of course going on when we need to re-new Konate as well and of course the three elephants in the room, Mo, Virg and TAA.

Summer window should be interesting.

I can't imagine on pure stats that Diaz is ticking enough boxes. Brings good energy and heart but too often then end product is lacking. Boss song though, so I will miss that.

I reckon the club will be happy for Barcelona to pay Diaz closer to what be is worth.

Chiesa they will sell and make the profit that they were after.

And if Nunez is going then surely Salah is staying?

You couldn't afford to lose Diaz, Nunez, Chiesa and Salah in 1 window.

Gapko, Salah, Isak and Jota with a young 5th option would be decent.
