well ive learnt a lesson when your on a good thing stick to it,

30 yrs of happily working canon printers, and then i go and buy a epson 830u for the photo printing quality.

i knew what i was letting myself in for with the in built print heads but no i bought it, less than a yr later its a paper wieght

stick to the devil you know

at least hp may be expensive but the print heads are on the cartriges.

any one else with computer product from hell stories

Are Epson now putting in some "feature" on their printer cartridges that goes along the lines of a chip that tells the printer when there is no more ink, then stops printing until the cartridge is changed?

I heard a story that the chips NEVER get it right, and leave anywhere from 17% to 30% ink left in the cartridge.

all too true Groves, and for those of you with 4 to 6 individual ink tanks in the epson, they are having trouble supplying cartridges to the asia pacific region, so good luck to epson owners
