With the emergence of Mcgovern & Barrass we now have a surplus of tall KPP's down back. We also have brown, schofield & Mackenzie. So question is if we used Mackenzie as trade bait what is he worth or what would you offer for him?

Id say he is worth a 3rd rounder, mainly teams in the premiership window would be interested I think.

mackenze wont be traded and i doubt he would want to move as well. At his best his one of the best defenders in the comp. He will most likely displace will schofield from the side in the long run but.

He most likely won't be but if he helped us snag that other quality mid we are desperate for you'd have to entertain the idea though wouldn't you? I mean the whole WCE board and fans have been carrying on about snagging one but the only way we are going to do that is by giving up something that is quality. Sometimes to get the ultimate success tough decisions and sacrifices need to be made.

I hope he doesn't leave but I was curious to see what other people thought he was worth.

Good thing you're not our list manager.

Mackenzie is having a poor season coming back from a knee reco but is still our best key defender and won't be traded unless someone offers something really, really good.

i would but i dont think too many clubs will offer us a first rounder (his actual worth). Hawks and swans are the only clubs i can see that would be genuinely willing to give up a first rounder for him. But i still rekon the club wont trade him. Going forward, a defence of Emac, Gov and barrass is much better than one with schoey. I like schoey but emac (once he has a preseason in the gym) is a beast of a bloke thats able to go to toe to toe with the big boys but he also elite above his head. Not many sides would have three key defenders extremely good above their heads.

I agree about Schofield and a first round pick being the asking price.

I like Schofield but I don't think we use him well, and with Sheppard, Wellingham and Hurn there's only so many rebounding defenders we need. Schofield is getting career low disposal stats (since he established himself in the side) and has had one bounce for the year. He should be a 15+ possession a game player using his run and kicking from half back, but we play him in a role better suited to Mackenzie while Mackenzie plays in the WAFL. Maybe after last year the match committee see more in playing 'small ball'.

Do we look at trading Schofield then (although didn't he sign a new contract this year) & if we did what would he be realistically worth?

He's a mid second.

3rd rounder was an undervalue my bad. Haven't really seen him play much since he did his ACL I just assumed he wasn't having a good year if you would even consider trading an experienced KPD of his calibre. Did think the idiot call was a bit unprovoked though...

That melbourne guys an idiot At the top of this page
AA Fb .. I reckon GWS would give up their first pick at the draft this year tied to their ladder position (14,15 etc)
Hasn't been AA at all. Not sure anyone would give up a first rounder after seeing the footy he's played this year.

Maybe he won a best and fairest then
Either way you would pay between 12-25 for a ready made key defender if you need one
GWS can afford to slightly over pay considering they need one badly and don't need another kid midfielder

They are both good players i thought.
brown is decent player and handy KPD but is too injury prone. Mcginnity is tough and plays with his heart in his sleeve but is a bit of a spud. brought in due to his excellent WAFL form and the fact that he gives his 100% and adds hardness around the contest.
