Anyone know what's happened to AB? He hasn't been named in any NAB match so far... Would have thought this would have been a good opportunity for him.

He's either still injured, or he's playing for the Bullants

Going by the training reports that have been posted during the pre-season, he has spent a significant part of the pre-season in the rehab group, so if he is now free of injury you would assume he would be eased back via the Bullants, much like Walker & Scotland.

Ah, cool, thanks MS.

I bloody love this guy...a little slow but I know we can cover that.

It's tough one....keep him and he might struggle to get games....even though his figures are rock solid, or trade him but I don't know if anyone would pick him up.

Great tackler!!!

You have to admire the effort of Bentick, but frankly some people aren't quick enough to be AFL players and he's one of them. If you go at the speed Bentick does, you need to be awesome at everything else, like a Greg Williams was. Unfortunately Bentick's field kicking isn't up to scratch either. He's fine for depth, but he's not a first 22 player anymore.

Correct.
The last training session I went to, AB was running laps and not doing much at all. I doubt he'd play in the opening matches of the season, and will build his match fitness up with the Bullants.

It's really going to be between Bentick or Hadley as to who gets a regular game, I don't think there is room for both.

Who would we rather?

I'm not sure it is, to be honest. I agree there isn't room for both but is there even room for one?

While I like Bentick, with our list as it is I see him as only a depth player. A decent enough midfielder in his own right, but he's too one-dimensional in that beyond the contest, he doesn't offer us much at all. The depth in our midfield is quite substantial and we're better off playing guys who mightn't offer us as much around the contest, will be much more valuable in link play and providing an option around the ground.

Hadley's an interesting one. If he plays like he did against the Hawks, he'll be a more than valuable addition to our line up in 2009. He's more than competent in the guts and could be just the man to protect for Judd. Footskills are decent and he's decent enough around the ground when fit. Problem being he's rarely ever fit. He doesn't want to go down with injury again, cause if he does he might find it hard to break back into the side as our youngsters continue to mature.

Its good to see there is competition for spots in the side now... A far cry from the past few years.

Bentick is probably more valuable to our team than Russel and Houlihan. Watching last nights game against Geelong, it was pleasing to see the level of defensive and forward pressure the guys put in, and Bentick, like Eddie Betts is an excelent tackler and definitely gives us grit, unlike Russel and Houla, who always get easy footy. Bentick creates opportunity for better skilled players to mop up.

I like the guy also but it's a shame he will find it tough now with the midfield we got.I still reckon he might still surprise us if he gets the chance in the 22 but he needs to always do well.

I think him and Carazoo have a little time left depending how quick Yarran,Robinson,Browne be permanent in the 22 and Hadley and Johnson established. There is also Armfield and Josephs in the mix also while Russell and Grigg are not going anywhere.

It's good hey too see for once our list has more then 15 players on the list of 38 who can play.

It's hard seeing these hard nuts and players who did well for us in hard times get squeezed out that we liked but it has to happen if you want a great side and good depth.Guys like Wiggins,Carazzoo,Bentick and Bannister have been pretty good for us in hard times.

I'm not sure about that,Russell is hard to play on and creates things, his getting better ever year and Houilhan has great skills and always finds Fevola.

I have a question although who would you rather in Carazoo or Bentick?

Will be delisted at the end of the year.

Bentick, Bannister, Hartlett, Wiggins and maybe Edwards if he doesn't improve his work off the ball are staring down the barrel. Not counting trades to get more picks (*cough* Fisher Carrazzo *cough*), the first three players will fill our delisting quota for this year.

Wiggins will count himself lucky if he stays on the list...Has the worst shank I've seen.

Hadley is class. In my opinion, a much better player than Bentick. Bentick is ok though. I just think Hadley is very good.
