You think?

Went past a few weeks ago while they were training, didn't have a good look but they looked bloody small.

any of the from taylors lakes players from last year gone to play for the new team Sydenham Hillside has they are the nearest team to taylors lakes

Word around the traps suggest Westmeadows and Maribynong Park will do alot better than previous years.

Chuck in Pascoe Vale, Craigieburn, maybe Taylors but they were pants last year and West Coburg and it will be very tight at the top of B Grade.

That was the rumour I had heard a few months ago but I was quite loudly shouted down so who knows...

Don't know about westmeadows but has for Marbynong Park goes that for sure.

Marby have picked up a few Greenvale players and old players coming back from Moonee Valley. Marby also play the new teams Sydenham Hillside and Roxburgh Park twice during the year as the EDFL don't rate Marby and were thinking of giving the new teams easier games at the start of the year which I guess has back fired.

We shall wait and see what the season holds

They dnt have many talls that is tru, but they do have some quaility smalls duel B&f Mark De Sousa, Ben Scott, sam taylor etc these type of players can win games off the own boot !!

My mail suggested that they were on the way out to the WRFL and that person was quite surprised when I told them last week they were still in.

I think Taylors Lakes lost players last year during the year has there was a walk out by some of the better players or something to do with the coach

Only were going to the WRFL has the EDFL wants seniors clubs to have juniors team in each age section (e.g Under 10, Under 12, Under 14, Under 16 and Under 18). That is Marby problem not enough junior sides in the last few years along with North Coburg.

can anyone tell me how strathmore are looking this year, heard they have spent big

They tried to buy the Wilson brothers, but loyalty won out and the brothers will stay at Essendon Grammar. Tom Wilson is primed for a big year but James Wilson is a hack!

West Coburg got hammered by Moonee Valley in a practice match last weekend.

The rumour going around that things aren't looking too good at Shore Reserve and some players were asked to buy their own jumpers for the upcoming season.

I am in regular contact with West Coburgs coach via email. I passed on the above comment and this was his reply.

Its amazing the crap that gets around the traps.Yes we did get beaten by Moonee Valley by 10 goals. But what some people don't realise is that we had up to six senior players out and we basically didn't run out the match ;one because of injuries and it was a pretty hot day and they are an A grade side.On the other rumour the club is in the best finanical state it has been in the last 10 years. This year we are starting the season in the black so what the club has decided to do is drop the membership price this year and it is up to the players to get their own jumpers. In the past alot of players don't pay their membership and take the jumper and don't return it.So what the commitee decided to do was to drop the membership and each player had to go to our sponser ( Pascoe Vale sports store)and purchase their jumper. There are other clubs that have this policy ie;Pascoe vale & Keilor,So the responsibilty is up to the players.Other news at the club is that we have been getting great numbers at training our u18's have been getting 36 to training. We now have 2 u16 sides,3 u14,4 u12 & 4 u10s. So the club is looking in great shape.Hope that explains alot of things speak soon.
Regards Peter

Hope this sheds some light on West Coburg not looking too good! :D

Standard response from a losing coach...

Already making excuses...

Well...that's why it's called a roomer!

They shouldn't be worried about juniors. They've always had good juniors.

Mate I knew it was a rumour but it is just interesting to me to see what the coach thought of it. I am just glad that the mighty West Coburg are going well with their juniors as 2 seasons ago we didnt field an under 18 side and as you would know it is very hard to sustain seniors and reserves without having the influx of under 18s. :) GO WEST!!!

How did cole laurie play for keilor park? any news on jeff heritage on where he is playing?
Cole Laurie and Jeff Heritage have both gone to Diggers Rest in the Riddell League. I believe Cole is Assistance Coach and Jeff just as a player. They went together as they are mates and want to stick together. They also have a few other mates that play there (and they play cricket there, too).

Previews on the EDFL site - Abers main ruckman Farrelly out for about 6-8 with a stuffed elbow as is Woods for another couple with his thumb. Any other news from other clubs?
