Yeah, it makes Doss grumpy to be called out in public as a coward - but he's going to consistently make the call that now isnt the right time to make a move against the Hirdites.

Hopefully, the situation will resolve itself, and he can feel smug that what he wanted happened.

Disagree. IMO ogg cat is possibly the only one who could be proud of his stance.....standing up and voicing his disapproval of the bloody mindedness of the board you have responsibility for. You haven't been representative of your boards stupidity but your lack of action (unlike ogg) to open the eyes of your boards posters is about to realise your own failings.

IMO there is no denying bigfooty is representative of the general community, and certainly my short lived discussions on the streets around the essendon district confirm that, with the same tired arguments about other clubs, vendettas, caro, etc etc. dons fans should have had one and only one concern this last 21 months.
THE ESSENDON FOOTBALL CLUB. end of story. But instead they've been sucked into the game of bluff to protect the money men. And they STILL haven't recognized it.

I disagree - just about all Bombers fans I know want Hird gone and are disillusioned with the lies told by the club. One or two have read the Bombers board and can't believe some of the posts there.

I've found that the more informed the supporter, ie. prior to any of this people who's opinion I respected on footy, the more likely they are to want Hird to **** off. The more casual Essendon supporters I know are the ones who have jumped on the #standbyHird bandwagon hard.

Gawd, the point I was making wasn't that hard to see was it?

Of course EFC is seen in a negative light in the broader footy community. A lot just don't care as intensely as they do on here.

Likewise, a lot of EFC supporters outside the BF fishbowl probably look at it all and say "well, I try not to follow it too much but what I hear in the media is that Essendon will move on better without Hird, so that's what it's got to be".

Whether that's true or not is not even the point, I'm just pointing out that it isn't as all consuming for all fans as the concentrated petri dish that is BF.
