Well, it's back, the greatest night (now two nights) of TV all year....and i'm pumped!

Like last year, the contest takes place over 2 nights, the semi-final taking place today with the top 10 progressing through to the final on Sunday joining 14 other countries.

Last years winners Ukraine are the host country. The favourites are Greece, Norway and Hungary.

European cheese at it's finest....bring it on!

im heaps excited ay!! Ruslana was the bomb last year! go ukraine!! look out for great pics from ukraine all through sunday nights final!!!!!!

There are some hot chicks but most have little talent.

Yes, Wogan and the BBC broadcast are back, by what SBS have admitted was popular demand.

Me? I have absolutely no intention of watching a prelim round. I want to save myself for that one magical evening this Sunday :)

How bad will the Brits be this time around ?

Having discovered that there was SFA here on TV instead, I relented and watched the semi final... and got a Quiet Riot reunion show, grannies with drums, and an angle grinder symphony - God I love Eurovision!!!

If Norway's c*ck rock performance doesn't win I shall be massively disappointed. It's got all the elements of a winner - loud, upbeat, easy to sing along with, a serious stage presence, and the whole thing is roughly twenty years out of date :D

It will be nice to see greece win it... mainly because of the girl performing... one of the favourites sweeden born elena paparizou very popular in europe this is about the only time i would give a stuff about eurovision because she is in it.

Their were some shockers in the prelim round friday night.

go israel or denmark (i'm talkin to you, school teacher) or croatia i think the chick band in the white, the lead singer werent too bad no israeli girl tho

Reckon Greece were average. Lativa was so freaking wet I'm shocked they polled so well. Bit disappoited the Bosnia & Hetzegovina 'Supremes' tribute band didn't poll better...

Hehehe it was good to see our girl blitz the competition and run away with an easy victory... it had to happen the song was huge in europe even before eurovision and compared to the rest of the performances she deservedly won it all.

The darling of greece... elena your my number 1 :)

All in all though, it was an ordinary Eurovision....worst i've seen in a while.

Greece were indeed very average... worst winner for a long time. Best performances for the night were Israel and Malta. Thought Spain were dreadful, as were Ukraine.

What exactly was average about the winning performance... when u have a dancy sort of song your always a chance in eurovision... the performer was quite stunning put together a good 3 mins or so.

IMO I had no idea what ukraine was up to last year and they got up in the end.

Anyway it was a shoe in... the song has been huge all over europe at least a month before the song contest so it was always going to be the fav and in the end won by a big margin even i was surprise with the ease of the win... still cant get the song out of my head.

You cant beat the politics side of eurovison.

- Turkey 12 points to greece a few years ago that would have been impossible.

- Serbs and croats helping eachother out.

- fyrom giving high votes to albania and greece.

You gotta love it lol.
