New rules people when it comes to linking to articles. OBEY.
The lawyers of some paper have been calling and want us bigfooty to properly credit them, it's not like they take stuff from the internet without giving proper credit.

In regards to linking to articles, the Official BIG rule is:

* Headline
* link
* Excerpt up to a paragraph
* link

No more, unless you have specific remarks about specific paragraphs or sentences in which case:

Your comment
Quote
More comment

As of now, entire articles are not to be posted. This includes in private boards and social groups.

Thank you.

Yes, I realise that the two links are going to be the same but this is the format it must be.

Fair call.
The easiest would be a link to the original and a specific section releveant to discussion.
This would be OK..?

As long as said section doesn't exceed a paragraph or so in length. Otherwise, you need to chop it up into parts, with your comments separating the quotes.

Sorry, I work in online media, you can quote full articles so long as they are properly cited, referenced, dated and linked.

Don't get spooked by the word "lawyer".

But everything else is correct. Every citation needs to be linked, with the publication's name/author's title and date.

But most posters aren't going to do that properly so it's too problematic to have that policy.
I'd say, stick to the format proposed and yellow card offenders with explanation. Ban 2nd offenders for 2 days, increase the ban for future offenses.

The argument is that such a large volume of content has been reproduced that it has acted as a substitute or competition to their online portion of the ridiculously large newspaper.
