I noticed I had a waiver request for PJ Brown, so I cancelled that (so that the waiver priorities won't be changed) - Falc should do the same with Sean May.

Like you said I'll just pick Brown when he becomes a FA.

I can edit waiver priorities so no problems there.

OK, so lately I haven't been able to put any draft reviews together and I don't really want to go back and analyse each pick from rounds 8-13...so instead I'll just take a look at the makeup of each team.

The picks that I like will be marked with a happy hans:
hanshappygj7.jpg
but the picks I'm not so crazy about will be marked by a shocked hans:

Kenny_01 - Kenny's Allstars
R1 - Shawn Marion (Pho - SF,PF) [acquired from GeeCat]
R2 - Jason Kidd (NJ - PG)
R3 - Rashard Lewis (Sea - SF)
R4 - Boris Diaw (Pho - PF,C)
R5 - Jason Terry (Dal - PG)
R6 - Josh Howard (Dal - SG,SF)
R7 - Shane Battier (Mem - SF)
R8 - Hedo Turkoglu (Orl - SG,SF)
hanshappygj7.jpg

R9 - Vladamir Radmanovic (LAL - PF)
hansshockedhc2.jpg

R10 - Nazr Mohammed (Det - C)
R11 - Kenyon Martin (Den - PF)
R12 - Rajon Rondo (Bos - PG,SG)
R13 - Kendrick Perkins (Bos - PF,C)
hanshappygj7.jpg

- This team doesn't have any 'supertsars' but is instead made up of a lot of versatile players who contribute in categories other than those expected from their position: Marion, Kidd, Lewis, Diaw, Radmanovic...that means this is an all-round team as opposed to a team focusing in on certain categories.
- I think Hedo is a good sleeper pick in round 8 - check his no's - he's surprisingly effective.
- Rondo is all the rage at the moment but I'm not sure that he'll be have the consistent opportunity to reproduce his preseason form.
- The backcourt is a lot more reliable than the PF/C's, so guys like Mohammed and Martin really have to deliver. I owned Martin last season and he drove me nuts. If he isn't over his knee problems then Kenny should expect a lot of frustration.
- That said, I really wanted Perkins on my team (I knew I should've taken him at the top of round 12!). He should be a good source of rebounds and blocks.

sirjames - Dutchey's Drillers
R1 - Kevin Garnett (Min - SF,PF)
R2 - Michael Redd (Mil - SG,SF)
R3 - Carmelo Anthony (Den - SF)
R4 - Zydrunas Ilgauskas (Cle - C)
R5 - Chris Kaman (LAC - C)
R6 - Tony Parker (SA - PG)
hanshappygj7.jpg

R7 - Luke Ridnour (Sea - PG)
R8 - Andres Nocioni (Chi - SF)
R9 - Brevin Knight (Cha - PG)
R10 - Alonzo Mourning (Mia - C)
hansshockedhc2.jpg

R11 - Randy Foye (Min - PG,SG)
R12 - Sebastian Telfair (Bos - PG)
R13 - Kenny Thomas (Sac - PF)

- A team loaded with PG's, but uncertainty hangs over three of them: Ridnour, Knight & Telfair. I think Ridnour will be OK and Telfair is probably as good a pickup as you can get at the end of the 12th.
- Not too many multi-positional players so any sort of injury could see sirjames scrambling to find spots to fill so that no potential games are missed, however Brevin 'sprained ankle' Knight is the only injury prone guy on the team
- With all the PGs (and Garnett), expect a lot of assists but this team also will also be great at fg%, shot-blocking and rebounding...3's seem to have been sacrificed
- Good job in picking up PG's & C's after taking the best available players in the first 3 rounds, but Mourning was taken too early for my liking...though he will be good in the games Shaq misses.
- As for Foye...apparently this kid has great talent but he'll probably be worked gradually into the rotation, so he is someone who's gonna give sirjames 'short-term pain for long-term gain'

X_Box_X - Tim Slam Duncan
R1 - Allen Iverson (Phi - PG) [acquired from Borgsta]
R2 - Tracy McGrady (Hou - SG,SF)
R3 - Joe Johnson (Atl - PG,SG)
R4 - Richard Jefferson (NJ - SF)
R5 - David West (NOK - PF)
R6 - Andrew Bogut (Mil - PF,C)
R7 - Troy Murphy (GS - PF)
R8 - Ben Gordon (Chi - PG,SG)
hanshappygj7.jpg

R9 - Zach Randolph (Por - PF)
hanshappygj7.jpg

R10 - Jamaal Magloire (Por - C)
hansshockedhc2.jpg

R11 - Grant Hill (Orl - SF)
R12 - Smush Parker (LAL - PG)
R13 - Primoz Brezec (Cha - C)

- One of the few owners who didn't reach for position early in the draft and just took the best player available
- I really like the first 9 picks. Gordon & Randolph in rounds 8 & 9 in particular are are guys who I think could turn out to be steals.
- X_Box_X needed to make a trade for a good PG so why not Iverson? I think his trading days are far from over though. There is no PG depth (though Johnson & Gordon qualify there, they obviously won't be playing PG for their teams)
- The backup C's are also pretty shaky, but Murphy getting C eligibilty should allow X_Box_X to drop whoever of Magloire or Brezec is a dud (probably both)
- This team will produce fantastic pts & rebounds, but I don't see any other outstanding categories...and if it ain't working as the season goes on, X_Box_X will have to decide if he wants to be versatile in the remaining cats or hone in on a couple of others.

morpheus - evil empire
R1 - Dirk Nowitzki (Dal - PF)
R2 - Chauncey Billups (Det - PG)
R3 - Ben Wallace (Chi - C)
R4 - Rasheed Wallace (Det - PF)
R5 - Caron Butler (Was - SF)
R6 - Charlie Villanueva (Mil - SF,PF)
R7 - Wally Szczerbiak (Bos - SG,SF)
R8 - Chris Wilcox (Sea - PF,C)
hansshockedhc2.jpg

R9 - Tayshaun Prince - (Det - SF)
R10 - Stephen Jackson (Ind - SG,SF)
hanshappygj7.jpg

R11 - Jamaal Tinsley (Orl - PG)
R12 - Eddy Curry (NY - C)
R13 - Tyrus Thomas (Chi - SF,PF)

- The PG's are the only guys on this team under 6'7". Despite that, this team will be tough to beat in 3's since Rasheed, Dirk and Villaneuva can all help in that category
- All the big guys of course mean a lot of rebounds , blocks and few t/o's and because of their abilities in the other, non-tradional big-man cats, I like the makeup of this team despite the lack of backcourt players
- Tinsley's no's are worthy of an 11th round pick, but he has been the most injury-prone player in the league over the last 3 or so seasons, so if/when he goes down, morpheus might be wishing he picked up Watson or Telfair instead.
- I'm not sold on a guy who played a lot better than he normally does for half a season in a contract year, so I'm not a fan of the Wilcox pick
- Prince was a nice pickup though, and despite his recent troubles (he'll probably miss games due to court appearances) I actually think Jackson was a steal in round 10.
- Tyrus Thomas has shown in the preseason that he is a multi-category guy, but since I own P.J. Brown, I'm hoping the rookie's role will be limited ;)

GeeCat - Drunken Monkeys
R1 - LeBron James (Cle - SF) [acquired from Kenny_01]
R2 - Vince Carter (NJ - SG,SF)
R3 - Jason Richardson (GS - SG)
R4 - Raymond Felton (Cha - PG)
R5 - Jameer Nelson (Orl - PG)
R6 - Richard Hamilton (Det - SG)
R7 - Samuel Dalembert (Phi - C)
R8 - Al Harrington (Ind - SF,PF)
hanshappygj7.jpg

R9 - Speedy Claxton (Atl - PG)
hanshappygj7.jpg

R10 - Zaza Pachulia (Atl - PF,C)
R11 - Damon Stoudamire (Mem - PG)
R12 - Andrea Bargnani (Tor - SF,PF)
R13 - Leandro Barbosa (Pho - PG)

- The makeup of this team is the opposite of the evil empire: loaded in the backcourt with the PF & C positions only going 2-deep.
- Not sure if it GeeCat deliberately wanted the extra PG's in rounds 11 & 13 but I think they were close to the best players available at those times so I like those picks of Stoudamire & Barbosa
- an interesting mix of guys who play the same position but provide completely different things (e.g. Claxton & Barbosa, Richardson & Hamilton)
- obviously assists, 3's & steals will be outstanding, but ft% is decidedly average for such a small team.
- Claxton is a good sleeper pick, and Harrington was a mini-steal in round 8
- Dalembert is a bit out of place since nobody else on the team blocks shots. He's potential trade bait for GeeCat

Showbag - Shaq's a dugong
R1 - Dwyane Wade (Mia - PG,SG)
R2 - Steve Nash (Pho- PG)
R3 - Dwight Howard (Orl - PF)
R4 - Carlos Boozer (Uta - PF,C)
R5 - Shaquille O'Neal (Mia - C)
R6 - Kyle Korver (Phi - SF)
hansshockedhc2.jpg

R7 - Eddie Jones (Mem - SG)
R8 - Bobby Simmons (Mil - SG,SF)
hanshappygj7.jpg

R9 - Corey Maggette (LAC - SG,SF)
R10 - Eddie Griffin (Min - PF,C)
R11 - Steve Francis (NY - PG)
R12 - Donyell Marshall (Cle - SF,PF)
R13 - Erick Dampier (Dal - C)

- Showbag did a good job in adapting his team as the draft went along - the identity of team changed dramatically with Howard, Boozer and Shaq picked in succession. All 3 pair together nicely.
- This obviously means that this team will be near impossible to beat in fg% and rebounds, but importantly there are also some good 3-point shooters surrounding the big guys
- All the other categories are pretty much middle-of-the-road so Showbag will have to decide if he wants to attack any other cats at the expense of others
- Simmons would've been my pick of the round in round 8 if not for the heel injury
- Griffin can produce great no's (check today's game for an example) but he's not someone I'd want to rely on so I'm not a fan of that pick, but Francis is probably worth the risk in round 11
- Showbag has the best team name in the league

voodoo_86 - It Must Be The Shoes
R1 - Gilbert Arenas (Was - PG)
R2 - Jermaine O'Neal (Ind - PF,C)
R3 - Lamar Odom (LAL - SF,PF)
R4 - Antawn Jamison (Was - SF,PF)
R5 - Andre Igoudala (Phi - SG,SF)
R6 - Raja Bell (Pho - SG)
hansshockedhc2.jpg

R7 - Mike Miller (Mem - SG,SF)
R8 - Channing Frye (NY - PF,C)
hanshappygj7.jpg

R9 - Mo Williams (Mil - PG)
R10 - Drew Gooden (Cle - PF)
R11 - Josh Childress (Atl - SG,SF)
R12 - Shareef Abdur-Rahim (Sac - PF)
R13 - Anthony Parker (Tor - SG)

- A lot of multi-position players on this team but will it be able to survive with just 2 PG's and 2 C's?
- 3's and rebounds are the categories that immediately stand out. ft%, pts and steals should be pretty good too.
- I think the consecutive picks of Miller, Frye & Williams were good picks. A lot of owners (me included) were probably eyeing at least the first 2 guys knowing that they should each step up a notch this season, but voodoo_86 seemed very keen on their improvement - now he has to hope those expectations are realised
- If given the minutes, Childress will provide good no's, but like Abdur-Rahim, he probably has too much competition to produce his best results
- Compared to the middle rounds, the tail-end of the draft was low risk for voodoo_86. Could he have taken a flier on one more guy like Jack, Livingston or Curry?

Borgsta - Kirin Beermen
R1 - Kobe Bryant (LAL - SG) [acquired from X_box_X]
R2 - Tim Duncan (SA - PF,C)
R3 - Gerald Wallace (Cha - SG,SF)
hanshappygj7.jpg

R4 - Mike James (Min - PG)
R5 - Chris Webber (Phi - PF)
R6 - Sam Cassell (LAC - PG)
R7 - Luol Deng (Chi - SG,SF)
R8 - Darko Milicic (Orl - PF,C)
R9 - Cuttino Mobley (LAC - SG)
hanshappygj7.jpg

R10 - Udonis Haslem (Mia - PF)
R11 - Jamal Crawford (NY - SG)
R12 - Chris Mihm (LAL - PF,C)
R13 - JJ Redick (Orl - PG,SG)

- a good mix of reliable fantasy players (Duncan, Bryant, Cassell, Haslem, Mobley) amongst a few wildcards (James, Crawford, Milicic)
- Gerald Wallace has been the player of the preseason so far IMO. He's matched with a strong frontcourt (if perhaps lacking a little depth), meaning this team will be tough to beat in blocks, fg% and rebounds. 3's and steals should also be a strong point, so this is a tough all-round matchup for opponents
- I know Borgsta is a Magic fan, but expect to see Redick on the WW sooner rather than later
- injury could be the main thing that holds this team back

Colonel Matrix - Hustle Like Dwight
R1 - Chris Paul (NO - PG)
R2 - Amare Stoudemire (Pho - PF,C)
R3 - Mehmet Okur (Uta - FC,C)
R4 - Kirk Hinrich (Chi - PG,SG)
hanshappygj7.jpg

R5 - Manu Ginobili (SA - SG)
R6 - Ricky Davis (Min - SG,SF)
R7 - Danny Granger (Ind - SF,PF)
R8 - Rafer Alston (Hou - PG)
R9 - Marvin Williams (Atl - SF,PF)
R10 - Joel Pryzbilla (Atl - C)
R11 - Earl Watson (Sea - PG)
R12 - Nene Hilario (Den - PF,C)
hansshockedhc2.jpg

R13 - Shaun Livingston (LAC - PG)

- This team is stacked at the 2 most important positions (PG & C) and has a lot of multi-positional players, but a lot of the guys on this team have questions over how much playing time they'll get
- Marvin is a bit of a risk in round 9, but if he keeps up his preseason form he'll be worth it
- Colonel has gone the opposite route to Kenny strategically - targeting a no. of cats instead of looking for an all-round team, and each method has it's own merits
- The high no. of guards means that 3's, assists, steals & ft% will be solid, and Okur is a good complement to the backcourt players
- I like how the remaining guys are versatile, meaning that the team will have the potential to win extra categories in blocks or rebounds
- Having not seen how Nene is after his knee injury, and with the crowded Nuggets frountcourt, I think that pick might not be worth the risk, but I like the gambles on Watson & Livingston - they could turn out to be major steals.

DBAH0 - DBAH0's Destroyers
R1 - Elton Brand (LAC - PF)
R2 - Paul Pierce (Bos - SG,SF)
R3 - Josh Smith (Atl - SG,SF)
R4 - Ron Artest (Sac - SF)
R5 - Emeka Okafor (Cha - PF,C)
R6 - Deron Williams (Uta - PG)
R7 - Brandon Roy (Por - PG,SG)
R8 - Nenad Krstic (NJ - PF,C)
hanshappygj7.jpg

R9 - Mike Dunleavy (GS - SF)
R10 - Bonzi Wells (Hou - SG)
R11 - Jarrett Jack (Por - PG)
hanshappygj7.jpg

R12 - Kwame Brown (LAL - PF,C)
hansshockedhc2.jpg

R13 - Martell Webster (Por - SG,SF)

- A very young team, means there's a lot of potential here, but how much of it will translate into fantasy-friendly stats?
- Not much depth at PG & C but a lot of versatile guys in between
- I know I kinda panned the Josh Smith pick for being a little early, but he has looked good in the preseason so far
- Blocks and steals will be good for this team, but it's hard to say which other categories this team excel at, though there are a few possibilities - another big man will make this team hard to stop in rebounds and another 3-point specialist could also really help
- I think DBAH0 did a good job drafting in rounds 8-11. Dunleavy looks like he should have a career year in Nelson's smallball system, Wells is a good late round pickup and Jack should get the minutes to shine
- I'm not a fan of Kwame Brown though. I think this scouting report on him from Sports Illustrated (http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/basketball/nba/specials/preview/2006/enemy.lines/lakers.html) sums him up pretty well:

"I just don't see much of a future for Kwame Brown there. His hands are bad, as long as you put a defender around him he's going to have trouble getting the ball to the rim because he lacks touch and skill, and on top of everything he makes bad decisions. It killed him being the No. 1 draft pick, because his niche is probably going to be as a backup big man who needs to accept his limitations and earn minutes with his effort ..."

Off-topic, but I think those reports on Sports Illustrated make for good reading since the scouts give straightforward opinions on players and don't sugar-coat things.

Falchoon - Fairy Queens
R1 - Chris Bosh (Tor - PF,C)
R2 - Andrei Kirilenko (Uta - SF,F)
R3 - Peja Stojakovic (NOK - SF)
R4 - Marcus Camby (Den - C)
hansshockedhc2.jpg

R5 - Baron Davis (GS - PG)
R6 - Andre Miller (Den - PG)
R7 - Larry Hughes (Cle - SG)
R8 - TJ Ford (Tor - PG)
R9 - Delonte West (Bos - PG,SG)
R10 - Kevin Martin (Sac - SG)
hanshappygj7.jpg

R11 - Antoine Walker (Mia - SF,PF)
R12 - Rudy Gaye (Mem - SF,PF)
R13 - Sean May (Cha - PF)

- Falchoon will look to ride his luck this season as it looks like this team is all about taking risks.
- Of course, there are lot of inury concerns here but Falchoon seems willing to take these guys on and if they stay healthy, he's the one who'll be having the last laugh
- I like the late round picks of Martin, Gay and May. I think these 3 will all start for their teams and should put some surprising numbers
- For a team that is lacking a lot of bug guys, blocks is gonna be a strong category for the Fairy Queens. The assists and steals look great as well. The potential is there in 3's and rebounds, meaning this team could be a strong week-in week-out matchup when all players are available

hans moleman - San Miguel Beermen
R1- Yao Ming (Hou - C)
R2- Ray Allen (Sea - SG)
R3 - Mike Bibby (Sac - PG)
R4 - Brad Miller (Sac - C)
R5 - Stephon Marbury (NY - PG)
R6 - Morris Peterson (Tor - GF)
R7 - Pau Gasol (Mem - PF,C)
R8 - Tyson Chandler (NOK - C)
R9 - Jason Williams (Mia - PG)
R10 - Adam Morrison (Cha - SF,PF)
R11 - J.R. Smith (Den - SG)
R12 - Ryan Gomes (Bos - SF,PF)
R13 - P.J. Brown (Chi - FC)

I can sum up this team in 3 words: "Expansion League Champs" :D

Radmanovic puts up good fantasy numbers if you can get over his FG%, look at his stats when starting last season.

Kmart is a risk obviously but he went in the 5th round last season, as opposed to the 11th this season. Worth it.

Rondo is smokie but if he can get minutes, I'm confident he can deliver. If he can't get minutes, simply throw him on WW and pick up whoever is playing well :)

Ok, everything is fixed and up and running.

Managers, feel free to add/drop players as you like, remembering you only get 30 for the season.

Thanks to everyone for making the draft run swiftly.

The first six picks here are awesome, Yao/Miller/Allen = lock in FG% & FT%.

The only fault I can find with this team would be the lack of assists..

And I had to pick up Bynum after today.

Only wish I did it sooner.

I was tempted to pick him up but already had him in Div 1 and plus I didn't like how Jackson was limiting his minutes tonight. Was awesome in the first half with no fouls and got like 10 mins court time?!? Doesn't bode well for when Mihm and Brown return.

Inspired pick :)

Who is Tim Slam Duncan damnit, change your rosters - none of this hollow lead thanks makes me think my team is better than it is ;)

Sorry, mate. Had computer problems. No Iverson, Johnson or Bogut on the second day really hurt me. I'd be winning points and probably another couple of categories had a named them.
