Who else loves this band? They've been around since 2000, and sometimes get derided as post-rock Lite (as opposed to Godspeed, Mogwai, etc etc).

But I love em. Great driving/jogging music.

The Only Moment We Were Alone also gets put into the mp3 on days where I have exams. Always helps settle the nerves while I'm walking up to the Royal Exhibition Building.

Just had a quick listen on their Myspace - sounds pretty good to me.

Thanks for the heads up :thumbsu:

I love them. "The Earth is not a Cold Dead Place" is one of the few CDs I've heard that I consider flawless.
I hear they're coming here sometime this year, but then Pelican are meant to be as well and I don't see that happening.

Glad you liked it!

And yup, The Earth...is my favourite album of theirs.

I looked through the last.fm gigs list and I didn't see any tours down here. If they were I'd be there in a flash, me and my one friend who's ever heard of them (who also loves them).

The tour was something they mentioned on their website in July (I think) and then again in October last year. It pretty much just said they'll tour Europe, Australia and Asia in 2007.
The problem is what a band wants/says and what happens are 2 completely different things sometimes. I remember Deftones after BDO saying they'll be back before the end of the year, long year that ended up being.
When they (EITS) do eventually come to Australia, I'll be there even if I have to go to Melbourne for it.

Brilliant band. I can listen to 'Your Hand In Mine' for hours.

Check out Red Sparowes as well. Very similar. Especially the song "The Soundless Dawn Came Alive As Cities Began To Mark The Horizon"

I woudn't say they're very similar, but they are a very nice band. I do love how ridiculously long their song names are, especially on "Every Red Heart...", it's a short story.

How strange innocence is probably my fav album of theirs...

The new one is great though.. Catastrophe and the cure is a quality track...

Would always listen to them if i needed some inspiration or motivation..
Nearly brought a tear to my eyes a few times...

It's true, there's not many post-rock bands I can think of with vocals that actually enhance the music. iLiKETRAiNS would definitely be the stand-out (for me) where vocals do work though, he's got such an odd voice.

Haven't heard a great deal of them, but don't mind what I have heard.
Probably prefer Red Sparowes, and much prefer Cult of Luna (though they're a bit heavier, but still somewhat similiar with songs like "Dim" and "And With Her Came The Birds" etc) for the post-rock type bands.

Both those bands would probably be more at home under the post-metal label, although Red Sparowes kind of balance between the 2. But Cult of Luna are definitely post-metal these days, personally I prefer the sludge years.

Wow, I ramble a lot when it comes to music I actually listen to.
