f*** this computer!

Does anyone know why my homepage keeps setting to istartthere.com(a web site i've never been to or heard of) when i orginally keep setting it as bigfooty? This never used to happen untill about a few days ago. Now I have to keep typing in bigfooty as my homepage everytime i connect to the net

Surely if the computer had already had this from the start i would have had this crap 4 years ago!

Also, whenever I touch anything on the keyboard it says iexplore error and close all my windows. This only ever seems to happen at night though, and has started happening the last few days as well. So sometimes I can't type anything!

Anyone know what the f*** is going on with this stupid piece of s*** computer?

stop visiting pr0n, don't install kazaa, be careful what you download, etc.

Annoying stuff like that used to happen to me all the time. However, I started backing up files on cd and reformatting every few months and I don't really have a problem anymore.

have you tried installing spyboyt and/or adaware? If not, do, both are free.

Hmmm...I've just unistalled some old games i had on here and cleared what i installed off the net and it seems to be working so far i can use the keyboard which I haven't been able to around this time the last few days.

Well my home page is set to 4counter.com. I have never heard of it and cant get rid of it. my default use to be the bigpong page but now all i get is 4counter. Also i keep on gettin this health news file on my favourites and i have no idea how it got there, anyway i delete it and 10 minutes later it comes back. Anyone know how i can remove unwanted favourite programs for ever. As i type my computer is going nuts.

I downloaded spybot like Jim Boy suggested, and it got rid of the annoying homepage that I never wanted. Apparently it was a highjack thingy and it sets your setting to it's homepage. Try Spybot!

ok i got rid of the homepage problem, this thing with my favourites is giving me a headache. I delete 7 files off my computer and 10 minutes later they are back again. Anyone have any suggestions on how i can get rid of these unwanted files. It has gambling, fitness diets and some other disgusting things and i cant delete them. Anyone know?

check your control panel and remove programs which you do not recognise and know are safe to remove

If u r still having problems there are 3 things u need to do...

1. Download Ad-Aware
2. Download Spybot - Search & Destroy
3. Download Hijack This

Install & update Ad-Aware & then Spybot. Scan with either one first and fix all RED items it finds. Reboot when done and scan with the other.

Create a new folder called C:\HijackThis, extract the HijackThis.exe file from the zip file into the new folder and run it from there. This is necessary to ensure you have backups should anything go wrong. Then rescan with HJT and post your log here so that any remnants can be removed manually or u can email it to me here & I will get back to you!

It's the blaster worm trying to infect your computer. If you haven't installed the ms patch from http://www.microsoft.com/technet/security/bulletin/MS03-026.mspx then you should.

For some reason whenever the page can't be found it goes to OrbitExplorer.com and sometimes goes to eBay.com.au - anyone know why this is and how to prevent it?

Sounds like you've got some sort of spyware on your pc. Other have mentioned Adaware, etc. but I couldn't go past Pest Patrol. It monitors your system in real-time like anti-virus software. It finds and kills absolutely everything. Highly recommended.

Ok I've got some new annoying as hell thing on my computer. It sometimes underlines random words with links to spam sites.

again you have installed sy or ad programs onto your computer

when you run spybot do you also run the immunize part which keeps these types of spyware of your system.

you can also update spybot as you can an antivirus program

Yeah I had that the other day as well. It kept underlining words like 'finance' and 'health' whenever they came up on my screen, and put links to spam sites.

If this is what you've got then look on your 'programs' menu for a program called 'iText' or 'iTalk' (or something like that) and delete this. That should get rid of it.

Now my puter keeps going to this search page for my home page whenever i start up.It's mshp.windows or something. I have armed my puter with hijackblaster, spybot, ad-aware and pop-up blocker and it hasn't seemed to get rid of it. Will find out next time i start my puter!

If those programs don't work, get hold of a copy of Pest Patrol. Trust me on this...
