Completely disagree. I love Test cricket but thoroughly enjoy the Big Bash, particularly franchise rather than internationals. Sometimes, fast food is what you're craving.

Problem with using names that represent AUS is as we've seen in domestic leagues everyones precious about doubling up. Gotta be different to competitor sports leagues.

We're lucky with the Tasmania Devils (PS: what do you think when people call the club the Tasmanian Devils?).

Also, is a power, bulldog, bomber, saint or demon quintessentially australian? they're just names. Minnesota Vikings, dont think there are any vikings in Minny.

I get where you're coming from though. I think your opinion would be a majority especially given the underlying feelings and sterotypes about indians in the community. You just have to see when india tour, the comments on social media about them and the massive crowds. Part of the india supporters live and prob born here but they're often asked why dont they barrack for australia. in contrast, we have here the english supporters. no one on social media question their allegiance when many probably were born here or at least live here. so there's the country/racial element as well. So maybe CA rejecting IPL advances may be a good thing for a while, especially given what's happened in bondi, and there's a president in USA who confuses what Somalians wear with with Indians do (turban)



The t20 domestic concept will continue, but maybe the name BBL will die. The competition will continue.

Yes. I never said you were basing your argument on race. There are certainly many who would.

Many decried when the BBL was introduced dividing Vic and NSW into two "franchises". There was much anger. You cant take away the state format! How about rivalries!11!! For sure some decided never to support the teams and fair enough because it was becoming "Americanised". SO in many ways, they were worried about the soul or essence of state teams, but here we are with a healthy BBL

This came up in conversation today at the test. I quite enjoy the BBL but if the Indians took it over I'm not sure I could support it. SA T20 just seems stupidly gimmicky.

The teams only changed names and uniforms didnt they? Or was there more Indian presence, in the crowd etc?

Why do you think teams changing identities is such a trivial thing? Without their identity they become meaningless.
