If you are going to make a post about music in this forum, don't post it about one of the worst bands ever established....would rather listen to Caroline Wilson sing Time Warp!

I like 'This aint a scene'

Reeks of a song where a band thinks "this is a great name for a song" and then has to try desperately to write a song around it. Great name, crap song, no subtance, somehow gets played every 20 minutes on just about every FM station.

The music of 2007 can go and get stuffed.

reminding me of Good Charlotte.

have a few hits and fail to capitolize because they have no real talent.

I would love to see them actually sellout those venues.........they have 1 really famous song, one new one.......there can't be too many dedicated fans out there who would know all of their work

I wouldn't go that far, but it is a terrible song, from a terrible band.

In terms of airplay and the amount of people who actually seem to like this crap, it outranks Alien Ant Farm's 'Smooth Criminal' or whoever did that cover of Don Henley's 'Boys of Summer' a few years back in the horrible-ness stakes.

There's no melody and the lyrics are utter w@nk ("this ain't a scene, it's a god damn arms race" is such a mind-bendingly awful lyric that it makes you think that it's something the guy who wrote it spent hours trying to come up with and was really proud when he did). Musically it's as boring as Question Time.

Or maybe it's just me ;)

Nah. Anything by Fergie or Gwen Stefani is shitter than this band and song.

I don't know anyone over 12 who actually takes Fergie or Gwen Stefani seriously though, which certainly isn't the case for Fall Out Boy.

And seriously, what kind of a dumba$s name is 'Fall Out Boy'?

Who the hell names their band after a sidekick from The Simpsons that's so lame they got Milhouse to play the film version?

They didn't have a name when they first played, at an early gig they asked the crowd for ideas and thats where it came from.

Piss poor attempt at ragging a band regardless, but to not research the topic at hand makes it even worse. :)

It is a catchy ditty, but after hearing it ad nauseum I'm sick of it, and I'm a fan of the band.

They aren't producing musical magic, and the lyrics don't make you search too deep, you can relate to parts of songs. It is simply catchy non-thinking music to which you can enjoy on whatever you like as long as you don't classify yourself a music snob or have hang-ups on liking a band who have been wrongly classified as emo.

Well they should get smarter fans and band members then if that's what they settled on.

But don't worry, I don't need to rag on them too much - their crappy songs do enough damage as it is ;)

Each to their own, tis the joy of music, it is all upto the individual.

To be fair in regards to the name, I'm sure they didn't see themselves being this big in 2007 when they settled on it.

Fair enough, about the opinions thing and the name.

I guess I'm so perplexed as to their popularity. But as you said, everyone has their own opinions, but my opinion is that it's pretty much unlistenable!

Disagree on the bolded part, most of their songs have alot of meaning like this aint a scene, it is about emo bands race to the top ala a arms race. It also has pete wents flashing his **** and how he just moved on after being pissed of for a day, the songs are also very appealing for kids, so basically they like to think their music is mature, but really it is teenage, commercially driven msuic.

Whats wrong with the name "Fall Out Boy"?

I reckon its alright, there are certainly worse band names out there.

Plus anything to do the The Simpsons has to be alright.

To be honest i dont think this aint a scene was supposed to be that commercial, i heard it on the radio ages before it got as much attention as it did, the film clip was what got me into it, then all my mates told me whats that song with the dude on top of the casket. And the radio plays what the people vote for, and the people wanted fallout boy. Fallout boy cant really help that, maybe next time their film clips shouldnt be so appealing to teens.
