i had to give it a miss today but how was it? what was going on down there? was there a big line for membership and where they selling the new jumpers with the hyundi and media polo's in the carlton shop yet?

it mostly alright but murphy & benjamin snubbed about 50 supporters and just niked off. at about 2:30 (2 hours before the finninsh) all the players had a "team meeting" when really they all snuck out the back door and went home :mad::eek::eek:

not a bad day but the players made 0 efort

(except o;halpin who was gr8 all day)

Not as good as what it has been in the past. Didn't see alot of the players, and the line for an autograph from Judd/Murphy/Carrazzo/Gibbs stretched for a couple of hundred metres i reckon.

Carlton shop was packed, and there appeard to be alot of memberships being sold.

I was there today & most of the players made 0 effort this is true.
by the above comment that I have highlighted..... if this is the case, then I am absolutely disgusted in Murphy, he should know better.
If you ask me, that guy is getting just a little bit too darn cocky for my liking. He snubbed my daughter at training one day as well when she asked him for an autograph.
Yes Murph, you may be a good little player....... but just remember, we support the club, without us buying memberships & merchandise & supporting the club in the way we do..... where would you be?
You should have remained at Family day as that is a day for the fans & families to be a part of the club......
How friggin rude & obnoxious of you to piss off & do your own thing.....
maybe you should miss out on a few pay cheques young man maybe then you may pull your head in line.
ABSOLUTE POOR FORM

Some players left at 1.30 just after the presentation.

There was never less than about 200 people queued up for that booth. Seemed like a good turnout all round.

Never mind Judd missing a few weeks with his groin - he's lucky he's not out for months with writers' cramp.

I was there today as well and struggled to get 9 signatures on my footy which include Rattens' sig. My younger son got that one for me , I hovered for about 15-20 minutes to get Ratts to sign my coaches manual which was frustrating but he was concentrating on seeing as many kids off as possible at least .
Lachie Hill didn't have many people around him so was quick and easy , wished him all the best as I did with the coach and other players . Shaun Hampson had plenty surrounding him but was worth the 5 minute wait . My son got Gibbs sig. as well for me along with T.Birds . Also got Waite and no.s 15 , 18 & 38 . Huge cue to get Judds sig. as HBF mentioned so a lot of us would've missed out after lengthy waits .
This was my 1st family day and can't compare with others , but I was surprised the players took off at 2:30 and somewhat dissappointed considering they'd stopped for lunch just before jumper presentation and didn't seem to hang around for long afterwards .
I managed to track down EBIAC and nabbed his EddieBear while saying hello(Pleasure to meet you EB) . Had a look around forTB69 , was looking for your daughters face from a photo you posted a while back , and would've said a quick hello . In all , my family still had a good day out .:thumbsu:

I only got Hammer's sig, as the line for all the good players were way too long, so I wasn't waiting.

I left after the jumper presentation

I went nice and early and met a heap of the players and they were doing all the sig's an photo's. Adam Hartlett was great as was young Luke Blackwell was great too. Que's were ridiculous for judd and co.

Lines for the big names were ridiculous. Luckily my Mum heard Judd was going to the Visy marquee after the jumper presentation and saved me a spot near the front of the line. I was able to get autographs off Judd, Carrazzo, Walker and Betts from there. Got quite a few others around the ground including Waite who I thought was being fantastic with the kids. Props also to both O'hAilpins, Hartlett, Hampson and Edwards. Great guys with all the time in the world for the fans.

i reckon it was un organized specialy that lady that was singing and whats with the pres wearing that cheap suit with sneakers:eek:

MAybe it would have been better f there was an allocated security guard for each tent. I was waiting in line way before they were there, yet people, grown men, were just coming in from the side oblivious to the queue. So i politely told them to hover of at the end of the line. Disorganised

I took my 2 kids too....overall the day was probably a little better organised then the past but it had to be with a HUGE turnout.

Was a little disappointed with a few players in Cloke, Thornton and definetly Murphy. Just didn't want to be there I reckon.

Does Stevens ever turn up at player functions....thats 3 times in a row now that we haven't spotted him meeting the fans and signing autographs.

Scotland, Hampson and Betts were great as usual.

The membership tent was packed too....I think it they would have signed hundreds up today.

I don't think they were expecting so many dedicated fans!!! It was almost pre Grand Final stuff the way players were being mobbed!

They could've planned better.

Stevo was there signing autographs until about 2.30ish.

New Members Scarfs
I really like them, they're the same length etc as my socceroos one, soccer scarfs are great so good move by the club :thumbsu:

My 1st family day thought it went ok, absolutely packed though. Stayed a few hrs, got photos with Fish who was getting swamped, Aisake who is a sweetheart and Pratt (hehe!).
Didnt bother getting in the lines for sigs just too long a wait. Had a kick of the footy then headed off.
Wanted to have a look in the shop but the line in was just crazy so didnt bother.

Quite right, I got mine today and it was much more awesome than I expected:D. Very soccer like indeed.

Went along today. Seemed to be brilliantly set up for the kids.
The o'Hailpin boys were both fantastic :thumbsu:as was Hammo (going to be a big favourite with the girls going by the large number around him):). Ratts took a lot of time with the kids, as did the Kruezer, Didn't see a large number of other players amongst the fans: the ones mentioned plus Armfield, Hartlett, Waite and Ellard. There were another 2 or 3 whose names I didn't know, even though I was there for the jumper presentation.
Altogether a pretty good day especially if you had kids.:thumbsu::thumbsu:

I arrived at 10:30 am.

Whilst in the line for GIBBS, MURPHY, CARRAZZO & JUDD, there were several other lines operating.
Nick Stevens was signing autographs..... I think with Eddie & at least one other player I cant recall inside at or near the wine tasting stand.
(All players were signing close to or at designated sponsor stands).

I almost missed out on the quartet of signatures after waiting patiently for over an hour thanks to the swarm of rude people who just barged in front or to the side of the Visy Marquee.
Luckily my pregnant wife (who was waiting with me) got us through & I got the last Judd autograph "pre-lunch".

To those bagging Murphy......
I was watching him for close to an hour as we edged closer.
He was fantastic, smiling, chatting & signing autographs as he sat between Gibbsy & Carrazo.

They all happily signed my little "baby to be's" 00 size Carlton jumpsuit & I took a photo of each of them doing so.

They were all extremely patient & stayed at least 10 minutes past their official "gotta go now" time as they were being constantly hassled by security to get up for lunch, in the end a Carlton official had to drag them away as they tried to sign as many autographs as possible.

I cant speak for the post jumper presentation signing session as I had already left, but they certainly did as much as they could to satisfy the demands of the huge crowd that they had attracted.

For a table of guys between 18 & 24, they did themselves and the club proud.

Yes the line should have been more orderly, but short of having a constant security presence to enforce that, it is more an indictment on the "grown up's" who queue jumped / barged in, than the players themselves.

It was frustrating for those in the line as well as the players, however the players mentioned handled themselves & interacted with others with dignity I believe.

ps - Got a photo with Pratty as well.:):thumbsu:
