Family History Tree websites

Just wondering if any of you guys are involved in making those family history trees and if you would recommend any websites.

Preferably looking for a website that is free and easy to use.

I have used myheritage.com which is free and easy to use. They offer extras if you pay to upgrade. I haven't updated anything for a while but I remember using some downloaded software to input all of the information.

my mum is pretty involved with this i'll have to ask her. i think she's gotten as far back as the early 1700's maybe the 1600's, but i dont think she can go back much further iirc
