Yeah, we were probably always going to take him with our last pick.

Several other clubs were reportedly interested, Collingwood were one; so it wasn't locked in he'd come to us.

Wouldn't think he'd be playing more than a game or two next year though, needs to fill out bigtime and work on his consistancy. Stay away from him next year.

With Andy Otten falling down, it does open up a spot in defence. And Adelaide have a few young defenders priced basement.

But I can't stand picking rookie Adelaide players. Craig just doesn't give them gametime.

Petrenko last year sat on the pine more than he came on. In 10 minute patches, he used to rack up about 50 DT points.

Craig seems to prefer experience.

They generally get a go in their second year.

Adelaide's defence could look like Goodwin, Bock, Rutten, Symes, Johncock, Doughty with Symes and Doughty a bit more versatile and McLeod floating through. Rutten not on the radar but the rest could all score well :)

If Davis is picked for round 1 than everyone will have him, if he isnt than most probably wont.

When do Adelaide play round 1, please dont say on sunday ? :)

Only one Thursday game is going to make things even more difficult than it was last year. The only teams will know for certain before the final day will be Carlton and Richmond.

I really hate that. Rookies are such an important part of your initial team, it sucks not knowing if they will play R1.

Monty, could you put Jetta down as a forward for now. Just in case hes a forward in which theirs some chance. I want to make a side with him in the forward line and see what difference it makes to the rest of my side.

yeh i agree with the above statement but i think monty should put more people in a variety of positions so then you can test with people if they are in those positions and if they are not. Last year the dream team law makers were pretty leanient (ie. brett delideo as a forward) so imo this year i think there could be a couple of people thrown in different positions to spice things up a little.

On fanplanner i would personally love to see:
Joel corey, Brendand Goddard and steve salopek put as backs.
I appreciate everything monty does for us and realise it would be a tough job so i am not going to nag but it would be great if you made these changes.

I like that idea alot, if you want to pick nay carlton or richmond players you have to lock them away in your side and than work your side around that. It seems a logical idea, however i guess managing the circustamces and thus managing your team is what the Dream Team game is all about.

If your only going to know one game of sides than maybe you should look for better cover on your benches, or pay the extra bit to get a Scully instead of a Bastinac on the bench (example)

Rolling lockout?
That would be good...

TBH I don't really like that idea. Whilst yes it would help everyone out in regards to knowing more teams 22's, DT is a game that requires you to think, plan and use many strategies. The Thursday evening lockout add an extra variable to consider when selecting your initial line up, and in many ways can potentially ruin the start of a person’s DT season.

I don’t think I will have a lot of support here, but it just adds to the fun and games that is DT.

I'm with you 100%.

But, the game will continue to get easier. They want as many people joining up and clicking on their advertisements as much as possible. Making the game easier year by year guarentees another strong year in the land of fantasy footy promotions, advertisements & overall profit margins.

Good idea, but i dont think it will happen - the high level of traffic on the site before lockout always causes it to freeze or be as slow as a snail thus I cant see how they could manage having 200k (or a large number anyway!) people logged on at once updating their team.

im not sure my opinion on the rolling lockout on one hand i think great ill know my sides playing, on the other hand i think it seperates the boys from the men so to speak and shows the one who have researched and have a more reliable team even if that is starting rookies.

I think if you have done your research, then the thursday start shouldnt affect you. I managed to get online after teams were released this year, and it ended up being detrimental - the rooks playing R1 arent always the best ones to have in terms of keeping their spot.
