Will Beasley

Club: Geelong Falcons

D.O.B: 31/05/1994

Height: 194cm

Weight: 90kg

Honours: National talent identification camp with the AIS for rowing; 2011 National Championships bronze medalist; 2011 State Championships silver medalist; Represented the State in the U18 New Zealand Tour team.

Will Beasley is a strong key forward for the Geelong Falcons standing at 194cm with the ability to perform effortlessly as a pack-mark player. Football runs in his blood with his father, 1985 Coleman Medalist Simon Beasley, linking him as part of the future Father-Son rule at the Western Bulldogs. Also an accomplished rower, he is extremely athletic for his height, which makes him not only an asset to Geelong Grammar but also one to watch in future Drafts.

Well, I guess that's a sign he wants to play footy, given he's got himself a manager who is spruiking him as a future AFL star...

Would he want to be "father-son"-ed though?

As a side issue, interesting choice to go with RCM, which obviously has a strategy to establish market share in the next generation of stars, rather than squabble, scrap and sue each other for the current generation like the other talent managers do.

Haven't seen him play but if he is a rower, he should be strong and physically developed.
He wouldn't be like Cordy when he arrived, bones and skin and nothing else!!
If he can play he would be a good pickup!!

Did we take one of them before?

Cameron McKenzie-McHarg?

Didn't work out on that occasion. Still, the surname gives him a few credits.

If he's anything like his old man, we'll take him! :thumbsu:

son of the pieman OMG - take him now if he's half the player dad was he's good for 50 lazy goals out of the square.

PS : i grew up with a man crush on the beazzer.... pathetic i know!

For real?? Or is that a son-of-god thing?

A quick google shows up nothing, but Brian Royal is 51 years old, and assuming he had (Jesus) in his 20's, then Jesus could be in his mid to late 20's now. However if he didn't have him until later, then he could be ripe for the picking :thumbsu:

Wasn't it reported in recent weeks that young Beasley has chucked in football to concentrate on his rowing?

God I hope Jesus Royal becomes a player. He would be an instant cult classic. Anyone know how old he is?

Jesus hey? He'll be good in wet weather football.

Luke Kennedy and Jayden Foster are eligible in 2013.

Neither is a likely pickup at this stage.

Josh Wallis and Zaine Cordy are likely pickups at this stage for the 2014 draft.

Darcy Macpherson plays for our U15 / U16s team in the TAC Cup. He's only 159cm, is quite quick and has ok skills. We're hoping he grows to about 170-175cm if lucky.

That’s what I was thinking. Didn’t think he even played footy anymore….

I think our coach lives on the grounds of Geelong Grammar, so he should have the inside knowledge on young Beasley

Not a huge amount of money in rowing

Geelong Grammar kids (like Easton Wood) don't always play in the TAC Cup...??

I think you're right. Pretty sure they play school footy.

Would love someone of the size and pedigry of Beasley come onto the list, as a genuine FF is something we need. My only concern is the ??? over his commitment to football with his obvious rowing talent. The club need to make sure he is 100% committed to his footy before drafting him.

Your right on 100% committed to footy

I think it is good if players show talent in another sport wasn't our recent recruit Tory Dickson once in the Tennis Australia Junior top 10 rankings ?
