Cat's Eye by Margaret Atwood - just bought my third copy, but I'm excused in doing so because I have to do an essay on it this semester, and I don't want to write in my good copies.
In fact I like nearly all of Margaret Atwood's books.

Also, A prayer for Owen Meany by John Irving
Catcher in the Rye is a great one
Mrs Dalloway - Virginia Woolf.

Narnia series - C.S. Lewis
Harry Potter series - J.K.Rowling

Lord of the Rings trilogy... it took me over a year to read, but I'm glad I did.

Dammit... you know, I don't think I actually have a favourite.

All the Harry Bosch books by Michael Connelly of course..:)
Thomas H Cook - Breakheart Hill
Most Dennis Lehane Books esp Darkness Take My Hand , Gone Baby Gone and Shutter Island..
John Connollys Bad Men
And a heap of others i can't think of right now...

Brave New world - Aldous Huxley
Z for Zaccariah - (author escapes me)
A Time To Kill - John Grisham (purely becuase this book changed my opinion on the death penalty and I am such a stubborn cow that once my mind is made up it's impossible to change it!)
I know this much is True - Wally Lewis
All three Nicholas Evans
And all that I have read so far of Bryce Courtenay

The Star War series.
Liked reading Sherlock Holmes lasttime.
The Lord of the Rings.
The One That Got Away - Chris Ryan

Fatherland - Robert Harris
Red Dragon - Thomas Harris
The Dice Man - Luke Rheinhart
Trainspotting - Irvine Welsh
1984 - George Orwell
Fever Pitch - Nick Hornby

I read too much for my own good, but here goes:

The Name of the Rose - Umberto Eco
The Divine Comedy - Dante Alghieri
The Scar - China Mieville
A Song of Ice and Fire (whole series) - George R. R. Martin
Eon - Greg Bear
In Search of Lost Time - Marcel Proust

Plenty of others...

The Coach - Ric Charlesworth. Have read it twice and can continue to do so, love it.

I've also read Salmon's and Silvagni's autobiographies which were entertaining.

One of my mum's books,
The Painted House - John Grisham. Very nice read.

The Belgariad Series
The Mallorean Series

Both by David Eddings - awesome stuff!

You should check out fantasy works by George R. R. Martin and Steven Erikson. Martin in particular. His "A Song of Ice and Fire" series is the best fantasy series yet (it even beats Tolkien).

I might just do that!

Oh, and incidentally, have you read David Eddings new book? I think it's called "The Elder Gods" or something like that. Just released. I've grown out of his stuff, but I've read everything else of his. Just curious if it's worth buying, or whether I should wait until I can rent it from a library.

Haven't got hold of that one yet, in the middle of the "Jon Shannow" series written by David Gemmell. It's not too bad, but I still prefer Eddings.

"The Tommorow Series" -John Marsden
A few others from John Marsden (Winter, So Much to Tell You)

Watership Down was pretty good..

"Cat & Mouse" -James Patterson

Go Roos

"Striptease" by Carl Hiasson is my all-time favourite. His other books are also top shelf.

I've also enjoyed Lindy Cameron's "Kit O'Malley" series. She makes Melbourne sound like a place I'd like to visit. :D

Judgement on Deltchev - Eric Ambler
Guards! Guards! - Terry Pratchett
The Silmarillion - J.R.R. Tolkien
The Godfather - Mario Puzo
Mordant's Need - Stephen Donaldson
Who? - Algis Budrys
Foundation series - Isaac Asimov
Master of Ballantrae - Robert Louis Stevenson
The Long Walk - Richard Bachman
Royal Flash - George MacDonald Fraser
