I remember a show that I saw the whole series of when I was a kid, with a ship that floated through space and shot some sort of wave out of the front of the ship.

Sorry, but I can't for the life of me remember the name of that show! It was a good one!!

The Simpsons are of course the greatest.

Well..... my favourite child hood tv show was Astro boy... it was an epic..
As far as great cartoons though.... yeah The Simpsons takes the cake for sure, they are just unsurpasable.

Used to like the old Warner Brothers shorts but I've seen them all far, far too many times

FIGJAM, I remember watching a Jap cartoon where they took the Yamamoto (WW2 battleship) and converted it into a spaceship. Sound like the one you remember?
