Sorry to bring a non football question to Big Footy polls board, but given the scoring it's getting on the 'what other sports' thread, perhaps you all won't mind.

Curious, what form of cricket does everyone prefer, and what is your favourite method of watching it.

Be interested to hear the reasoning too? For me, I previously would have said one dayers on TV. But that was when living in Perth, primarily because to spend a day at the WACA generally meant absolutely getting baked.

Now in Melbourne love it live, and maybe being a bit older my tastes have changed. I prefer tests now, probably followed by 20Twenty. One dayers seem to me to fall in no mans land now. Teams are attacking more than ever in tests (scoring rates improved etc), and then 20Twenty provides that smash and crash form where the brain can be switched off. Still enjoy one dayers (though if I was a Kiwi I wouldn't have enjoyed watching on Saturday as the umps murdered them v Sri Lanka) but prefer the other two.

ODIs are great. Combine the tactical side of test cricket with the speed of limited overs matches. 20/20s seem to much in favour of the batsmen and to me seem like how far can the batsmen hit. ODIs are also about the bowlers. ODIs are about batsmen and bowlers, 20/20 is just about sixes. :thumbsd: Good to watch, but not as good as ODIs. Love tests, but I like the fact that ODIs are over in one day and Australia doesn't seem to dominate as much (NZ would more likely beat us in a ODI than a test). Plus it's a lot more exciting. :thumbsu:

I would have to say watching a ODI Live, They are exciting and they go for long enough to complete you day rather than a 20/20 are over as soon as they begin.

20/20's go for about the same length as a regular fotty game I think, I've been to 1 before, good fun.

Spot on, and that tends to be my ideal sport watching type of time frame. Anything less than about 2 - 2.5 hours I feel like I just sat down......soccer probably a bit different, the nature of the game suggests that could get a little bit much if it went routinely for 120 odd minutes like AFL.

But AFL at 2 hours playing time, a night at the speedway at around 3 hours....perfect.

Love test cricket live, but couldn't do it every week...or even close to it. My favourite form of cricket but once a year is fine thanks.
